From Darkness To Darkness
Dean looked up at the night skies, only to see them darken much more than usual. He struggled in his mind to guess the cause.
Once the darkening was complete, he got a cell phone call from Sam.
"Sammy, skies all clear in your area?" he got to the point.
"No, Dean, which is why I called you," his brother delivered the bad news from elsewhere, "It's on the news: all over the world, the skies have darkened."
The older Winchester considered his first suspect behind this supernatural phenomenon.
"Why, Amara? Why?" he demanded.
Instantly, he got a response; a defensive one.
"That's not me!" snapped a woman with long and dark brown hair. She, the Darkness, recalled all too well the time when this human had accused her of destroying the sun.
The hunter shifted his attention back towards the skies, only to see specks of light hurtling down. He returned his attention towards God's sister.
"Holier crap if you're not causing angels to fall again!" exclaimed the former, believing the latter's innocence.
The innocent yet dark essence only shook her head, before glancing at the skies herself. The next moment, the falling objects disappeared, but somehow she did not register any look of surprise.
Dean, in contrast, went from one surprise to the next.
"They were restored fully to their heavenly place," declared the brunette, matter-of-factly and calmly. She returned her focus towards the human.
"That's not me, either," she added, "nor is it an act of my brother."
"You heard that, bro?" asked the older Winchester.
"Loud and clear," came the answer from the younger Winchester. The hunter returned his attention to Amara.
"But if you didn't cause all these, then who?" he inquired, only to hear his brother's voice again on his cell phone.
"There's more on the news," shared Sam, "People interviewed have had near-death experiences of some 'Active Divine Feminine' having contacted them."
God's sister had some insights to share for Dean's sake.
"You killed Death before you freed me, yes?" she popped the question.
"Yeah, only to meet his more powerful replacement, your doppelganger, not too long ago," the human pointed out, before realizing the full meaning of his words. Upon the realization, he warned his brother over the phone.
"Sammy, we've got another 'new God' to deal with," came the warning from the hunter, "the Lesser Darkness."
