Katniss Everdeen sat in the kitchen of her oversized house in victor's village watching Peeta bake her favorite type of bread, the kind they have in District 11. He takes it out of the oven and sets it in front of her along with some hot tea.
"Thanks." She whispers as she takes a sip of the steaming drink.
"It's no problem Katniss, really. Now what was so bad about that nightmare you had? When you woke me up you seemed terrified." Peeta said, pulling up a chair and sitting across from Katniss.
"It was about the Games, not the Quarter Quell, but the real Games…our Games." Katniss sighed and set down her drink. "The Careers were chasing me through the woods and I didn't have anything to defend myself with. District 4 both tripped me, and then the District 1 tributes held me down while District 2 both tortured me."
Peeta frowned "Mmm, you know, it's amazing what you learn after spending part of the games with the Careers." He said, looking to the floor.
"Peeta I know it's the middle of the night, and you probably don't care because I have nightmares all the time, but you could at least show some sympathy. I mean, you know how bad they were! They were evil, heatless, monsters!" She yelled, dismissing his statement. Katniss looked up to see Peeta with a red face and clenched fists. "Peeta!" she yelled, needing more of a reaction.
"They had names Katniss!" He suddenly yelled, standing up and running a hand through his sandy blond hair.
"Peeta what are you talking about?" Katniss asked, confused.
"They had names, they had families! Marvel and Glimmer from District 1. Glimmer had a brother that was Prim's age. Marvel had three siblings and a father with a drinking problem. Cato and Clove from District 2. They were best friends. They'd been training together since they could walk. Clove's dad was a deadbeat, and all Cato's parents ever cared about was the games. Tide and Raya from 4. Raya's parents died when she was nine. Tide's parents were both Victors, and were always to drunk or strung out on drugs to notice his existence." Peeta paused his rant and took a deep ragged breath. "They may have been ruthless killers, but they didn't know any better Katniss! They may have been monsters but…so are we!"
Peeta then stormed out of the house, leaving a shocked, wide eyed Katniss alone to think about the past events.

AN: I always thought Peeta would have a different perspective on the Careers, so this is what came out of that little idea. I know Peeta's a little OOC, but that's because he's angry, and honestly we don't see that a lot in the books. Oh and I know I should probably be updating Letters to You, Seventeen, or For Rome, and I'm sorry I promise ill update soon (I'm on Spring Break this week so it'll be easier to update. But I sprained my wrist so it's kind of hard to type) any way thanks for reading
