Disclaimer: I do not own X-Men!
I looked at the mansion and took a deep breath. Something told me that I needed to do this. I know what I was and what I could do, so I was going to the right place, right? I was confused.
My name was Taylor Niederwerfer, I know a weird last name but I was proud of it. I had a dark past and most likely a dark future unless I got some help. I had nowhere to go and I was lost.
I walked up to the house and looked around. No one was outside probably because the president's announcement was going on. I took one more step towards the door and held the knocker in my hand.
Bang!
One knock was all I needed.
Inside the house:
As the group of mutants where watching the speech a loud knock came from the door. Everyone jumped at the startling sound.
Alex groaned. "I'll get it." He murmured. He thought it would be best since he was closest to the door.
"Wait, Alex." Charles demanded. "Nobody should know we are out here." They all looked at each other the same question in their heads.
"It's fine. I have a dangerous unforgiving power as it is." Alex then shrugged off all the glares and whispers of warnings he was receiving and walked towards the door.
Everyone in the living room rolled their eyes at the hot head and went back to listening. Though Charles was still mentally keep an eye on Alex.
Havok, aka Alex, walked towards the door cautiously. He knew they were right but he refused to listen to them. He readied his powers and opened huge door slowly.
I saw the door began to creep open after a few minutes. I was ready for mostly anything. When the door was open, I saw a boy about my age in the doorway. He was very good looking. I blushed lightly for thinking such a thing.
"Hello." He said confidently. "Who are you and why are you here?"
"I'm sorry." I apologized quickly. "I am Taylor. I heard you guys were recruiting." I told the blond boy standing in front of me. "Am I right?"
"Uh, yes but that was a while ago." He said. Then he just shrugged. "Oh well. I'm Havok. Or you can just call me Alex." He held out a hand and I shook it.
"Nice to meet you. So why do they call you Havok?" I questioned as he closed the door behind him and began to walk outside with me.
"I have a pretty dangerous ability." Was all he said. I wondered why he wasn't so open about his mutant abilities.
"Do you want to tell me more?" I ventured.
"No." His voice cold as ice. I didn't push the subject. Then he was back to normal. "What about you? What do they call you? What can you do?"
"Call me Unknown. And I don't like to talk about my abilities." And with that the conversation ended.
I felt a cloud of something come around me. I knew what this was; a telepath. I looked at Alex and my eyes narrowed. "You led me into a trap! Now a telepath is trying to get into my head!"
I heard people running towards us. I was wrong this wasn't going to help me it was going to end me. They must know how dangerous I am and are coming to get me. A tear slid down my cheek.
"Stop!" I heard two voices yell, one Alex's. Then everyone stood still. A hand went to my back.
"Are you okay?" A new voice said. He was the other one that yelled.
Then I collapsed under the stress. What a way to start my new life.
A/N: Sorry for the short chapter. I promise it will be the only one. Anyway please R&R!
