I blinked as I watched Sam, he'd been so different since he returned.
"Sam, where were you all those weeks?" I dared to ask - I looked away, pretending to be engrossed in the morning paper.
"Oh, it's nothing Lee." he seemed to almost falter as he said it.
I'm scared. Scared to lose him. I'm scared I'll do something wrong to make him want to leave. I'm scared that he'll find someone else so much better than me. I'm scared becuase I had finally realized how much he means to me.
"Just don't leave again, okay Sam?" with that he nodded and I had no choice but to believe it.
