Oh dear. What is this that I have written in the last 10 minutes?
It's not worthy to be on this site, but here you go...
:3
"The carebears is basically a show about these creepy bears that run around and share smiles with innocent children."
A girl nodded. "I understand. Pedobear was executive producer of the show."
Sometimes, you have to say things that you don't really believe to fit in.
They can be horrible things. She didn't believe that 'pedobear' thought of the 'Carebears' because that show is brightening up someone's day right now.
It's just that sometimes... you have to agree to fit in...
To be accepted.
Her name was Miku Hatsune.
She kept telling herself that she was going to stop trying so hard, she didn't want to be fake anymore. She didn't want to lie in her bed at home, cheating herself.
"Here's your meal, ma'am."
She laughed a little. She was sitting across from her boyfriend in a restaurant and they had just been served their food. On the plate she had spotted a fortune cookie, but she didn't need to know her fortune. She was going to have a great time later with the most popular people in her school – her friends.
Miku's boyfriend was smirking at her. He was the captain of the football* team and a good looking guy. Too bad he lacked personality. His vocabulary things other than cusses and grunting, but Miku didn't care. She was dating the most popular guy in her school after all.
The fortune cookie...
… it was staring into her soul.
It didn't have eyes, no, but it just begged to be opened. Miku had to open it.
Before she even looked at her food, she ripped the cookie open and read her fortune.
'You have the power to write your own fortune.'
There was so much truth in those words that Miku didn't understand at that time.
People took her mind too far – she wasn't acting how she wanted to act. She wasn't herself.
Miku dressed the way everyone else dressed, in 'fashion'.
Miku talked the way everyone else talked, with 'swear words'.
Miku acted the way everyone else did, like a 'puppet'.
Was Miku being controlled? Even she began to wonder...
"Am I accepted?" she had asked herself many times. "Could I really be accepted as myself?"
Slowly, Miku began to realise that she needed to act herself. She didn't want to be perfect at all.
She came into her school with her glasses on, rather than contact lenses, her Hello Kitty t shirt and her crazy boots. Her 'friends' wouldn't be seen with her all day.
The next day she tried again, her friends insulted her style and her look.
Miku's other classmates looks at the changed girl, she seemed a lot nicer and more genuine. They wanted to be her new friends. Real friends. With real personalities.
Three days later, the vain girl Miku committed suicide.
She didn't want to be with the 'losers' in her class, her 'popular' friends had taught her that they were dumb.
She didn't want to be insulted by who she thought would accept her.
She just wanted to be real.
Miku just became real too late, when she was brainwashed by what others had taught her. She seemed real, but underneath she was forced into being fake still.
She left her ideas to gather dust for too long.
She was no longer Miku Hatsune, she was a puppet to fate. She lost the power to write her own one.
Many people try so hard to fit in, it sucks all the life out of them, it turns them into robots. When they realise that they aren't themselves and try to change, they haven't really changed at all. They can't really accept the truth.
Not everyone will like you for who you are, but that's what you'll have to accept if you want to be yourself. :D
And in this westernised world of sex and swearing... we could do with a little self expression once in a while, right? :p
My God, that was a terribly written, serious piece. I hope I never write again... xD
For now, since I lack the strength to write anything multichaptered, oneshots will have to be at the top of my fanfiction agenda, okie? 8D
