Pairing: Maris and Ture
Song - Walk Away in Silence, Creed
Maris sat on the bed, staring at the picture he held in his hands. Ture stared up at him, eyes sparkling. Maris remembered taking the picture at the Winter Ball. They had danced together, ignoring everyone and everything, not caring about the scandal. But after that, the whispers had gotten more vicious and violent. Maris had started pushing Ture away, not realising until it was too late. Ture had walked away. From him, from Zarya, from everything he had offered. And Maris had let him. For weeks after, he had been unbelieving, waiting for him to return. But now he realised that Ture was stronger than that. If Maris wanted him back, he would have to get him. Putting the picture reverently on the nightstand, he stood and walked out to find his love.

'What do want me to do?' Ture screamed. He was tired of this, of Maris acting like he loved him, and then pushing him away. Maris refused to talk, to let him know what he wanted, and Ture couldn't take much more.
'Nothing.' Maris whispered. 'You do everything right. It's me. I'm broken inside, Ture. I can't be what you need, but damn me, I can't let you go. I'm sorry, Ture, I'm so sorry.'
Ture sat, there, crying silently. He wouldn't walk away, not after all they'd been through. Maris had saved him, literally, mentally, every way possible. That was why he hurt so badly.
'Tell me what you need.' He said. 'I'll be your anything.'
Song - If Today was Your Last Day, Nickelback
Maris laughed. Ture had dragged him out here, demanding he have fun. Slowly, he was discovering a life that didn't revolve around Darling, and he loved it. They were at a market on some planet he'd never even heard of, and he was buying food for Ture that the cook had never tasted before, loving the look of wonder on his face as he delighted in the new flavours. It was like he had been given a whole new start, seeing the world through fresh eyes, and he was determined to enjoy every moment of it. He'd learned before that it could taken away in an instant.
Running, holding Ture's hand, he ran into someone he'd thought he'd never see again.
'Father. A pleasure to see you.' And in that moment, he meant it.
Song - Never let me go, Nickelback
He'd left, needing to fight alongside the Sentella, refusing to send Darling out against his brother Kyr on his own. But he'd left like a coward in the night, not even saying goodbye. He didn't think Ture would take him back now, God knew he wouldn't have. But maybe...
Maris knocked on the door. Not hearing an answer, he pushed it gently, surprised to feel it swing inwards. He walked softly towards the figure lying curled on the bed, resting his hand on the back of his once-lover
'I'm back, sweetie. And I'll never leave you again.' Ture gripped his hand, pressing it against his tear-stained cheek.
Song - If you only knew, Shinedown
Ture lay in the dark, unable to sleep. Maris had rejected him, sent him away. In that moment, he'd lost everything. His best friend, Zarya. His Goddaughter. But it was the loss of his lover - his fiancée- that hurt the most. They'd been fighting, sure, but they made up afterwards, always forgave each other. Until they hadn't. Maris had told him to go, and he'd gone. Back to his cold little world, the ice in his heart growing with every call that wasn't answered, every letter that was returned. He couldn't breathe without Maris with him. A part of him was disgusted by how dependent he was on him, how even after all they'd gone through, he'd give his soul to be back with Maris.
