Sasuke sighed and checked his watch for the umpteenth time and sighed again. The blonde was over half an hour late. He stared across the table at the seat where Naruto would have been sitting before glaring at the door, as if trying to scare it into knocking. He stared at his watch for a few seconds and started glaring at the door again.

After fifteen minutes of this, he gave up hoping that the blonde would show up to celebrate his birthday with him. It looked like hi was going to have to celebrate his birthday alone again this year. He cut himself a slice of the neatly decorated cake he had made earlier in his excitement of celebrating his birthday with someone he cared about for the first time in six years.

He was about to put the rest of the cake away when he heard a faint knocking. He thought it was just his imagination, but he put the cake down and went to answer the door anyway. He opened the door to see his blonde friend standing there smiling.

"Hey, Sasuke." he said cheerily, "Sorry I'm late, I had a hard time picking out your present."

He stepped aside to let the younger boy in and was slightly confused at the lack of box in his hands. Sasuke lead the way to the kitchen and cut another slice of cake and handed it to his friend before sitting down to eat his piece, smiling to himself.

"I'm not sure, 'cause I've never been to one of these before, but aren't we supposed to play games and sing before we eat?"

Sasuke put down his fork before saying, "Well, I don't know any two person games and I doubt you even know the words to 'Happy Birthday', so I figured we'd eat and then watch a movie or something."

"Okay." he said, flashing Sasuke another one of his bright smiles. Sasuke gave him a weak smile before picking up his fork and muttering 'Itadekimasu' (A/N: sp?). Naruto fallowed suit and both boys sat eating their slices of cake in a comfortable silence.

When they had both eaten their fill of cake, Sasuke led Naruto into the TV room. "What movie do you want to watch?" he asked as he opened up a cabinet-like-thing where he kept the DVD's.

"What ever." said the blonde sitting down on the couch, Sasuke picked one at random and held it up for Naruto to see.

"Is this good?" he asked and the blonde nodded yes.

The raven haired boy put the DVD in before turning off the lights and sitting down next to his friend.

During the movie he subconsciously noticed that Naruto had moved closer and he felt his heart beat faster when the blonde put his head on his shoulder. He didn't even notice when that he was leaning his head on Narutos' and that they were holding hands.

When the movie was over, they sat their listening to the music that played during the ending credits. Naruto nuzzled Sasukes' neck. The older boy could feel the blush rising on his pale cheeks and was glad that the darkness hid it.

He could feel his heart rate increase when he felt a pair of soft lips brush gently against his neck. He neatly jumped when he felt his friends lips brush against his own before they were pushed together in a passionate kiss. After a few minutes Naruto pulled back, both boys slightly out of breath.

The kitsune wrapped his arms around the other boy before whispering in his ear, "Happy Birthday, Sasuke-koi." Sasuke blushed and returned the embrace and smiled a real smile because it was the best birthday he'd ever had.
