His Sweet Sugarcube:
Annie's screams filled their room, her hands clawing at the bed with extreme force, as if trying to get away from something. Her green eyes were wide and tears rolled down her slowly paling cheeks, her brown hair sticking up at odd angles. Annie froze as she felt the large warm hand cover her own, softly stroking her palm with its thumb, she slowly moved her head to her right, she felt herself being encased in a pair of eyes, a brilliant sea green. She looked at him desperately her breath ragged as she quickly closed her eyes, and covering her left ear for a few minutes, unsteady laughter emanating from her mouth before she opened her eyes and lowered her hands.
"Finnick?" She whispered, looking at him as if he wasn't real, as if he were part of her dream. Finnick smiled slightly, bringing a large, muscled arm and draping it over her thin shoulders, drawing her to his bare, muscled chest. He stroked her hair softly smiling.
"Shh, Annie, I'm here. No need to cry." His voice was a gentle rumble in her ear, soft and sweet, he only ever spoke to her like that. She let a sob escape her mouth, no it wasn't okay for her. Even if he was here, even if he cared so much for her, tried to protect her, he would never be able to save her from her memories.
"F-Finnick, I saw it again. The blood, he died Finnick! They killed him! Chopped his head right off, the blood, it coated the ground, it splattered on me. I'm scared Finnick, tomorrow, I don't want to go!" She was sobbing again, clawing at him as if he was going to disappear on her. He ignored the pain though and just hugged her tighter, rocking her back and forth. He kissed her cheek, as if hoping this would calm her.
"I know my love, but I won't let anything happen to you. You will always be safe while I'm around, I promise you." She felt so small in his arms, Finnick knew if she were to be Reaped this time around she wouldn't survive, and that, he could not live with. He pulled on their duvet, dragging it across her body before lying back down on the pillows, his arms encircling her waist, his chest now her pillow. Her body shook and he could barely see her now as they lay out of the moons light, but he could feel her weep, she had finished clawing at him but she mumbled incoherently for a few minutes before stopping and crawling up so she could now place her head at the crook of his neck. She lifted her head slightly so her lips brushed against Finnick's ear ever so gently.
"I love you, please never leave me?" She whispered softly, her eyes fluttering shut as she began to fall into a deep sleep. Finnick turned his head, feeling the strain in his neck, he kissed the top of her head, her soft brown hair tickling his nose slightly.
"I promise, My Sweet Sugarcube, I love you with all my heart and more." Finnick slowly slipped lower in to the sheets, careful as so not to wake his sleeping Annie, he closed his eyes, fear filling him, what if Annie were chosen? Then he could not save her.
