Dave took one more look in her eyes before leaving. He loved her more then anything, and would stand by her... no matter what. Sure, it was wrong of him to yell at her, but it was spur of the moment.

Imagine how it must feel to loose the girl of your dreams...

Dave could feel himself about to cry. Tears threatened to crash down from his already watering eyes, a lump began to form in his throat.

"Who would understand this heartbreak?" he panically mumbled under his breath. "Eli? Clare?"

Desicion made, He dialed his ex-girlfriends best friends cell phone.

Dressed in pjs, a shocked Clare nearly jumped out of her skin when the doorbell rang. Who would be visting her at this hour? Images of Fitz flooded her mind, but she shrugged it off, remembering how Ali was supposed to dump Dave tonight. She was probably in need of some comfort... but wait, didn't she have Jenna?

Sighing, Clare hopped off the bed, grabbed her book, and headed down the stairs.

"DAVE?" Her question sliced through the air, accompied by her surprised look.

"Uhhh... hi," he looked away sheepishly, but Clare could tell he had been crying.

"Uhm.. yeah, hi. Just what are you doing here?"

Another wave of tears flooded from his brown, puppy-dog eyes. "She.. sorta.. broke it off."

Clare became overwhelmed with sympathy. The tears of Eli's break up, the tears from Jake... all the pain and suffering had flooded back into her mind. She could only imagine how Dave must feel, considering sex had ruined his relationship.

"I heard," Clare felt herself mumble.

"I don't understand. I support her decision one hundred percent, but... shouldn't we have discussed this?"

Eli. Eli was the same way, Clare thought to herself. He wanted to suffocate her. He wanted to help her make every decision. Always be there.

"Girls need... breathing space," Clare said, mustering up enough courage. It took so much for her not to cry for him, since the sympathy she felt was so overwhelming. He... he really wanted what was best though.

"I gave her fucking breathing space," Dave said. "But when your in a relationship, you just don't go and change your whole life!"

"We're in high school, give her time."

Dave looked down. His eyes were puffy and red, a lump still threatened in his throat, and his whole head hurt from the entire situation. He had been dumped before (come on, who hasn't!), but never like this. Never by a girl he was so tight with, never by a girl who made him so happy, so alive...

"Yeah, maybe."

He thanked Clare before running off. How would he ever get through this... much more explain to his parents that she dumped him!
