Dean is always up before Cas.

At first it wasn't on purpose, just out of habit, but after being able to sit and gaze at Cas while he

slept without his knowing, he started to wake up earlier purposefully. There was something

about his steady breathing or how his mouth was lazily open, or how peaceful he looked curled

up in one of Deans old shirts and not too much else that could make Dean sit for long before he

realizes what time it is.

Dean is in the kitchen when Cas emerges from the bedroom, dragging the blanket with him

around his shoulders. After a glance into the hallway he can't help but smile as he grabs the full

mug on the counter and makes his way over to Cas, who has stopped mid-hallway and glanced

at the clock, realizing that he's slept until two in the afternoon.

"How." he mutters as Dean pushes the warm cup into Cas' soft hands and wraps his fingers

around it, planting a soft kiss on his forehead. "Beats me." he replies, trying, unsuccessfully, to

hide his grin. Besides the one in the bedroom, this is the one Cas that only Dean gets to see.

Hair tossled, eyes fighting to stay open, and a total disregard for anything that isn't coffee. Dean

always thinks about how he could spend an eternity here, sitting on the couch running his hands

through Cas' hair while Cas sips his way into full consciousness. But of course, they've got a

job to do.

"Sammy called. Said he thinks he's got something in Arizona." Dean said, sighing. All he wanted

was a day for him and Cas, but they barely convinced Sam to let them get their own room.

"When will he be coming over?" asks Cas, also dissappointed.

"In about half an hour, he went out for something to eat." Dean calls from the kitchen, after some

clanging of cups in the sink. Cas catches himself staring at Dean's ass, and his back muscles

that you could see through his shirt.

"What are we supposed to do until then?" he asks, drawing his eyes back to Dean's face.

"Oh, we'll think of something." Dean smirks as he walks towards the door and Cas hears the

door lock.
