Well, I'm ill and somehow this little One-shot popped into my mind. I hope you like it :)

Having A Cold

"Eugene, you don't have to look after me. I'm fine," Rapunzel sniffed, pulling the blanket up to her chin.

"You're not fine; you're ill. Plus, it's the first time you have a cold, right?" Eugene said, putting a cup of hot tea he had brought from the kitchen down on Rapunzel's bedside table.

"Yeah, that's true but I know that it's completely normal to catch a cold from time to time," she replied, sniffing again.

Eugene handed her a tissue.

"Thanks," Rapunzel replied, blowing her nose not very princess-like.

"Well, I can tell you that it is completely normal to be looked after when you're ill," Eugene assured her.

"It is?" Rapunzel asked, surprised.

"Sure. Why not?"

"Because it's infectious. You could catch it, too," Rapunzel informed Eugene.

"I know that. But for the record, that's just the way it works. If someone you love is ill, you take care him or, in this case, her," he responded, tucking a strand of brown hair that had fallen into Rapunzel's eyes behind her ear.

"Aww, this is sweet," Rapunzel smiled.

"Yeah. It sure is. -Now drink your tea before it gets cold," Eugene reminded her, handing her the cup.

Rapunzel obeyed and took a sip:"Mhm, strawberry, my favorite."

"That's part of the service," Eugene winked.

"I like that part," Rapunzel smiled, then she rubbed her red-rimmed eyes tiredly and tried to stifle a yawn.

"Well, I suppose you should get to the part where you take a nap," Eugene suggested.

"Maybe I should," Rapunzel agreed.

"Yeah. Well, I will leave you alone now. But when you need me, just sent a maid for me," Eugene said, standing up.

"You don't have to-"

"Rapunzel, stop worrying about me. Believe me, I'm the one with the best immune system in whole Corona." With that, Eugene bent down and gave her a quick peck on the lips.

Before Rapunzel could protest, he had left the room.

Shaking her head in disbelief, Rapunzel snuggled deeper into her pillows, a small smile on her lips while slowly nodding off.

- one week later -

"I've brought you self-made chicken noodle soup!" Rapunzel exclaimed happily, placing the tray down on the bedside table.

"You shouldn't have..."

"Oh come on, you would have done the same for me if you could cook," Rapunzel cut Eugene off, sitting down on his bed.

"How do you feel?" she asked him, her voice softer now.

"I'm fine, really," Eugene sniffed, trying to assure her but ,of course, it didn't work.

"It will get better," she reassured him, nodding knowingly.

"I know,"Eugene grinned," I had colds before."

"Are you making fun of me?"

"Maybe?," Eugene admitted sheepishly.

"How about the man with the best immune system in whole Corona having a nice chicken noodle soup I made for him?" Rapunzel teased, handing Eugene the soup plate.

"Touché," Eugene murmured, shovelling a spoonful of soup into his mouth.

Rapunzel watched him carefully: "And? Does it taste good?"

"It's delicious!"

"Yeah?" Rapunzel asked, excited.

"That's the best chicken noodle soup I've ever tasted," Eugene confirmed.

Rapunzel smiled and watched Eugene finishing the soup she had cooked.

When he was finished, Eugene smiled at Rapunzel with wearily eyes.

She noticed and stand up: "I think I should go, you look like you could need a nap."

"Well, I do feel tired," Eugene admitted.

"Sleep well and get better soon," Rapunzel said, pecking Eugene sweetly on his cheek.

"Not a peck on the lips?" he grinned.

"Well, I thought it would be better if one of us being ill was not going to be a steady state," Rapunzel said, before closing the door silently.
