Author's Note:
Hello all and sundry. :) I'm usually more of a reader of fanfics than a writer, but I like this little piece enough to suck up my raving cowardice and post it. ;) It's a short conversation poem that I imagine would take place between two elven friends or lovers when one is leaving for Valinor and the other isn't necessarily ready to follow. I made up the two elves, but the ideas, places, and the Blessed Realm all belong to the master himself. No...not the guy from Manos. Tolkien, you cretins! ;)

Illindë:
Where are you going.
Child of the forest?
Far over the cold sea,
But what will you find?
Where are you going,
Grey-eyes, heart's twin?
To the shores of Eldamar
To leave me behind?

Teleperyn:
Soft is your coming,
Child of the moonlight.
Soft come your feet
To the sea's restless lair.
Where are you going,
Night singer, star child?
To the shores of Eldamar
To follow me there?

Illindë:
Will you then leave me,
Son of the Greenwood?
Where would you send me
O'er mountain or hill?
Lorien has faded,
And Mirkwood is dying,
And only their memories
Live with us still.

Teleperyn:
Ages are passing,
Daughter of evening.
Change is the scent
On the sweet summer air.
The grey sea calls to me,
But say that you'll follow
To the shores of Eldamar
To walk with me there.

Both:
To the shores of Eldamar
To walk with you there.
