"I missed you, James," whispered Kendall quietly, not quite looking into his eyes. "I know I lied to you, and I'm so, so sorry. I'll never be able to tell you how much I messed up."

James made a disbelieving noise. "If you miss me so much, that means you would have had to care about me. Considering you cheated on me, with Logan, I think you've made it pretty clear that caring about me is one thing that you definitely can't do." Kendall's face fell, deep lines of misery appearing around his eyes.

"James," he said, tears appearing in his eyes. "I do love you, you know that." James scoffed again. "Cheating does not equal love." And with those words, James turned and walked away, leaving Kendall's heart broken beyond all possible repair.

When James had rounded the corner, Kendall let himself fall apart. "James," he whispered as the tears started falling, thick and fast, boiling hot with all the self-hatred Kendall felt writhing inside him. He felt like he was going to be sick.

"I'm so fucking stupid!" screamed Kendall, fisting his hands into his hair. He fell to his knees as he sobbed. He knew it was stupid to kiss Logan. He knew James would find out. He was drunk, he was stupid, he was the biggest fucking idiot in the world, and now, there was absolutely nothing he could do about it.

Kendall curled up into the fetal position, right there in the middle of the Palm Woods hallway, and cried until he felt sure that all the tears in him were gone. When he finally faded into the sweet release of unconciousness, his only thought was that he dearly wished he would never wake up again.
