What happened the first night Edward stayed with Bella…?
As I laid there with Bella I was wondering what I did to deserve an angel like her while I was stuck in this body forever a monster. When I was there with her in the meadow today I just stood there waiting for her to just run away and never look back, just leave my life forever. But I knew if I really needed to I could easily leave…couldn't I? After all I was just doomed to this live forever and I could not give her this life I could deny her nothing but this. It is the only thing I will ever say no to her then I heard the reason I was still here with her. "Edward I love you" I heard Bella say dreamily it was the first time I heard her say that but the feeling it gave me was amazing, staggering. I held her close to me but not close enough to hurt her, no I could never do that to her. Not on purpose any way but if I did hurt her I could never live with myself. She was indeed now my life. I laid there as she snuggled up to me wondering how she could be comfortable cuddling up to a hard, cold rock. I stuck my face in her hair and breathed in her scent it was a curse and a blessing all at the same time. Then so carefully that she did not stir I slid out of the bed and quickly jumped out the window for I knew I needed to change but if there was a god in heaven I prayed to him that Bella would not wake while I was gone. I ran as fast as I could to my house ran in and out without saying a word but I did catch Alice smile at me. I ran back to Bella's house and saw that she did not move a muscle so I sat in the rocking chair in the corner and watched her sleep and as she stirred I noticed it was to early for her to get up so I started to hum her lullaby loud enough for her to hear, she had a soft smile on her face as she said my name again. And I smiled then I heard Charlie get up then his thoughts "huh I guess Bella really didn't go any where last night better reattached her battery cables." I chuckled as I heard his thoughts as I waited for Charlie to leave for his fishing trip with Billy Black. As I heard his cruiser leave the driveway I turned my attention back on Bella and watched her she should probably get up in about an hour I think. Then about half-hour later I heard her heartbeat speed up as she started to wake up as her eyes landed on me she smiled jumped out of the bed and into my lap and cried "Edward you stayed!!"
As I rubbed her back I chuckled, shocked "of course I did." Then I realized I could never leave her.
