He's her forbidden apple; maybe he's the snake. It's been a long time since she took much interest in biblical texts. That and it never interested her in the same place.
She's always been the snake. He came into her life at the wrong time. Off the back of a relationship that she believed was heading towards marriage and children. Her promotion to producer and longer working hours meant that he walked out on her.
Brian ended up being her should to cry on. He ended up being the drunken fumbling in the back of a taxi. He ended up bringing her to an orgasm where she couldn't breathe for seconds after.
She didn't want a relationship. She wanted sex, a little bit of fun and someone who was willing to take her to a nice restaurant when she felt like it. Someone she could send a text message along the lines of 'You + me – clothes. My place at 10' and she knew he would be there. Brian was that.
It got boring after a year; she wanted more yet he wasn't willing to give more.
She got offered the position as Will's executive producer. The same night she told Brian she was done with him.
Yet he still fucked her on her glass coffee table.
He disappeared for the next year and a half, desperate to become the next Huffington Post.
She falls in love but she remembers the last relationship and how it hurt when he walked out.
She bumps into Brian at a party; Will is in Washington and she's just lonely and drunk enough that they end up going back to his place.
He texts her a week later, she blows of dinner with Will claiming a headache. He rings her cell several times as Brian's fucking her from behind, fingers tangled in her hair, forcing her head back.
She screams louder that night then ever before.
He becomes her rebellion. He becomes the way to get away from the good girl image like the cigarettes and alcohol at high school were.
She feigns illness and work to Will. They spend less time together.
Then she finds the Tiffany catalogue in his draw. Her heart skips a beat and it's the first time she's gone around Brian's apartment in the middle of the day. He's stripped before they make the bedroom.
Will finds out, or she tells him before he finds out. She notices that Brian left his underwear and she had just managed to throw Brian out several times before Will came around. It's getting too close to be fun.
Will walks out, Brian becomes her comfort until she moves to Atlanta.
Once she's posted in Afghanistan, she finds out that Brian moved to Atlanta saying that if she comes back he'll give her the serious relationship she wants.
She stays. She'd rather deal with stab wounds in Islamabad than a relationship.
