And she saw it. Just as she was slipping into the deep darkness, she saw for a moment, what Edward saw every time he looked or thought of her. She was beautiful. Not just pretty, but beautiful. Both her soul and her appearance. Edward had fallen in love with her for her beautiful soul; her appearance was just a plus. In her last moments, she was glad that she was finally able to understand why Edward loved her. She looked mentally at her core; it shined a gentle golden glow. Strong and courageous, gentle and loving, stubborn and invincible. Yet, she was vulnerable, with weaknesses, and Edward loved her wholly and truly for who she was.

James was blinded. The morsel of a human girl was glowing. Not the gentle glow of a lamp or the sun shining lazily upon wood or cloth, but a strong, fierce glow that lit up the room of mirrors, and then intensified each moment that passed. James stopped drinking her blood. He couldn't drink another drop, even though there was still plenty left in the girl. He backed away, the light hurt, it burned him. It was more painful than his transformation. The pureness, it was too much for him. He wanted to die. He saw himself as a demon, a creature to be hated and feared. That was exactly how he always wanted to be seen, but now he saw himself from all of his victim's point of view. James couldn't stand himself. He hated himself; it wasn't for him to exist. James repented. He knew he wasn't going to heaven; he was going to pay for his crimes in Hell. He knew at this moment that there was an afterlife. The proof was right in front on him. This angel in a human body.

Edward couldn't believe what he was seeing. He must be dead. But how did he die? His Bella had been released from her mortal body. Always, from the first moment he saw her, he had known that he would only see her true self, her angel self, at his death. White wings unfurled from her spine. As pure white as undisturbed snow.

AN: I wrote this a long time ago hoping I would be able to add more to it at some point. Every time I pulled it up to work on it though, I had nothing to add. I wish this was longer, but I'm otherwise happy with it besides the fact that it's a Twilight fanfiction. Sorry guys, I fell out of love with Twilight a long time ago. I still like it, but I don't love it. And I don't mind bashing Twilight and everything entailed with it xD
