"It is beautiful here," Noa replied softly, picking up a dandelion and blowing the tufts away in the breeze. The three were in the outskirts of town, close enough to drive further but too far away to go back into town. Edward's reckless driving had almost caused an accident, but the car did crash into a tree, and now Edward was trying his hardest to repair it.
Alphonse, Edward's brother, knelt down beside her and nodded, "The flowers are very pretty."
Noa smiled and picked up a daisy. She looked at it for the longest time, and then nodded,
"Such beauty, yet it is a very simple flower. Simplicity is beauty. That is why us Roma wear very little or no makeup in our performances."
"And yet you still look beautiful." Al said, nodding in agreement.
Noa blushed without even knowing. Her tan complexion, however, hid her flushed face well, "Thank you."
Alphonse turned to see Edward screaming at the innocent car a few feet away. He was trying hard to put the steering wheel where the actual wheels were. He sighed.
Noa turned, "Don't you think we should help him?"
"No. I think Brother should learn his lesson on his own." Al chuckled, and looked up at the bright blue sky, "Guess we're going to be late for the performance at the carnival."
Noa sighed, "Yes."
Al suddenly became uncomfortable, for he began fidgeting and huffing. Noa looked at him in curiosity.
He turned to look at her, his face a bright shade of pink, "Um, Noa?"
"Yes?" she inquired, leaning forward in worry, "What is it, Alphonse?"
"I was wondering if you will go with me to the festivities when Brother fixes the car?" Al mumbled, but Noa heard him.
Noa seemed amused, "Alphonse, I already am going with you and Edward. I am part of the show, remember?"
Al shook his head, "But will you go with me?"
Noa squinted, "You mean...? Like...a...date?" she said it because it sounded so strange in her mind.
"Kind of. Yeah." Al was blushing harder now.
She wouldn't hurt his feelings. She just wouldn't, couldn't, shatter his heart.
...Especially with that puppy look in his eyes.
"I'd love to." she said gently.
Al's nervousness appeared to fade, "Really? You would?"
Noa giggled, "Yes."
"I'm very happy, Noa, you have no idea!"
Noa laughed this time. He could be such a child sometimes, "I can only imagine."
Al leaned forward and boldly kissed her on the cheek. Noa froze and as he pulled away, he grinned,
"I can't wait till we get there!"
Just then, Edward annouced proudly that he had finally fixed the car.
OMG is it true? Could SC have a thing for the Al and Noa pairing?! Maybe. Just let me know what you think.
