So this idea was swimming around in my head while I was writing my Christmas story, but it didn't fit. A few days later, i ran across a fanfiction contest on the supernatural.tv message boards and entered this. It didn't win, but I'm really proud of it and would appreciate feedback!

Title: A Good Son

Summary: Double-drabble. Dean's fifteen and thinks he's going to be spending Christmas Eve alone, but he's wrong.

Disclaimer: I own nothing!

A Good Son

The sandwiches were cold, but Dean didn't care. Not like anyone was there to complain. No one but him and a few roaches.

Sighing, the fifteen year old turned back to his Christmas dinner. Lunchmeat on Wonder bread. Same as always, but different in a big way. Sammy had always been there to share with him before, ripping off the crust and sticking it on Dean's plate, because he knew it was his brother's favorite part.

The year before had been Dean's first solo Christmas, with Sam desperate to celebrate with his friend Robby. Dad had been off hunting, and Dean hadn't objected. This year had been the same.

The door to the room creaked open and John came stumbling in, obviously drunk. Dean was at his side in seconds, slipping an arm around his father. "Hey, dad," he said quietly, "I made dinner."

John looked lazily at the small table and the sandwiches that sat on it. "A good son," he slurred, "would have made a real Christmas dinner."

"I know, dad," Dean sighed as one tear rolled down his cheek and his father passed out in his arms, "I know."

That's it. Please review!
