A/N: Credit goes to my friend YoshiLink for this one; she came up with the idea. so, here's the next "Childhood" story, enjoy! This one is also short because it's one of those things where it happens in two minutes, and I wanted to do a monologue again. :P
DISCLAIMER: I do not own the Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker, nor do I own to idea for this fic, but my friend let me use it. So, you can't sue if you haven't noticed by now.
Childhood Actualities
We stood there, on the starboard, ready to set out on our huge adventure. The kid in the green hat-Link was his name-stood there waving to his grandmother who he left behind.
A huge adventure was waiting for him-I could tell.
But I wasn't sure if he could make it.
As I saw his sad face as he waved goodbye, I saw it:
He was on the verge of tears.
How immature, huh?
But it was then I really noticed. Was he too young for this? Was he ready to go on such a huge journey? I mean, he's just a kid.
But then, so am I. Was I too young as well?
What was my part in this?
Well, we all know that answer. Tetra does rhyme with Zelda, y'know.
But despite all I thought in that moment, I could only say one thing, one thing that everyone would ask:
"Ugh, how long do you think this is going to take?"
And then he changed, changed the way he looked, changed the way he felt.
He was no longer a kid, eh?
More like an adult.
A big strong adult that was ready to take anything on. A big strong adult with strength beyond anyone's dreams.
A big strong adult with courage.
But then, I guess we could all say that. Courage is his thing.
But it was just that moment; I can't really say what I felt; maybe it was just a sense of hope?
But then I realized, I was still a kid, and I was dragging him into this when I still didn't have the strength.
But maybe I did?
I didn't know, well, until I found out who I really was.
So I ask again: What was my part in this?
Well, now I really know, not just what destiny knew.
I brought him into this.
And if I didn't, then we'd all be dead.
Good thing I did, even though we were both just kids.
Because adults could never do this job right, eh? Just some kids that are kinda like adults.
And that's exactly what I saw in him.
Oh, and about what I said before, about how long it would take, I'm glad it took along time.
It gave me time to realize I loved him.

"And that's what I saw in your father." Tetra told her two children, both looking exactly like Link.
"And that's why he went on a huge adventure, mommy?" The younger of the two children asked.
"Yep." Tetra laughed.
"Mom?" The older child asked.
"Yes, Lanm?"
"He's going on another huge adventure, isn't he?" Lanm asked. Tetra's expression changed. Changed to something cold.
"Yeah..." She sighed. Lanm was silent, until he spoke with brave words:
"I may be a kid, but I want to go with him."
And Tetra looked at her son, smiled and nodded yes. Lanm smiled.
She was dragging yet another kid into a huge adventure, eh?

A/N: Well, that was fun to write. I've never written a WW fic before. And I really liked the ending. I knew it was too much like Childhood Realities with the monologue and yeah, so I decided to make it a story Tetra was telling to her children, so there was a SLIGHT LinkxTetra in there. (Which I kinda find ironic to like because I HATE the LinkxZelda paring. :D lol.) Hope you enjoyed this little fic!
