Belle helped the injured Beast up onto the balcony, where he lay down on the floor. His friends came rushing out, but stayed out of sight.
"You came back," said the Beast.
"Of course I came back. I couldn't let them... Oh this is all my fault." she said hugging him. "If only I'd gotten here sooner."
"Maybe it's better... It's better this way."
"Don't talk like that. You'll be all right. We're together now. Everything's going to be fine. You'll see."
"At least I got to see you one... last...time."
Belle pulled Beast's paw up to her cheek. He held it there for a second, then dropped it. His head fell back, and his eyes closed. Belle dropped the paw and put her hands to her mouth. She couldn't believe this has happened.
"No, no! Please! Please! Please don't leave me!" said Belle. She began to cry. "I love you!"
The objects watched the last petal fall off the rose. They all looked down at the floor, and Cogsworth put his arm around Mrs. Potts. The rain continued to fall. But one beam of light fell, like a shooting star. Then another came. And another, and another. Belle finally noticed what was happening. She stopped crying for a second, then started to back away. A fog began to enshroud Beast. The objects looked on in extreme anticipation. Beast rose up into the air magically and began to turn. He was enveloped in a cloud of light, and became wrapped in his cloak. Suddenly, Beast's eyes opened wide and his arms and legs stretched out. He was consumed by the spell. He then gradually descended and was laid on the floor again. The fog disappeared and Belle reached out to touch him. She jerked her hand back, however, when the figure began to move. It stood, then looked at its paws, then turned to face Belle. The Beast hadn't changed at all.
"Beast? Beast. Are you all right?" said Belle going over to him.
"Well, yes. But I don't understand. I'm supposed to be charming."
"But you are charming."
They smiled at each other.
"Awwww," said the objects.
Belle and Beast kissed... and the kiss soon led to...
...their wedding kiss.
They were now married, and everyone stayed the same.
Certain as the sun
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time,
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the beast!
Tale as old as time,
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the beast!
