Summary: He never thought that Hong Kong might hate him for it.
England had thought of Hong Kong as a replacement for America. He had loved the smaller nation, who did not protest when he kissed him. But he never kissed back, never uttered a word, when he went even further. He never showed any emotions. England had taken it as something coming from all asian nations (with the exception of China and Korea.)
He had felt sad when he had to return Hong Kong to China. He wouldn't have anyone any more, even if the asian nation had set off firecrackers after every time England had gone further than a kiss. But he never thought that Hong Kong might be mad at him. But at the World Meeting, Prussia had stated so. England had retorted that Prussia didn't know the boy. At that, Prussia had snorted; I know him much more than you do.
England had not realised that he had been serious.
But now, when he saw the two nations chatter away (with Prussia doing the talking) and Hong Kong actually looking interested. (He had never seemed interested in anything England had said.)
England felt a sting of pain run through him, when he looked at Hong Kong.
Hong Kong seemed to smirk at something that Prussia said, and the taller nation laughed loudly, pulling Hong Kong into a tight hug, which, surprisingly, was returned.
Another pang of pain (now mixed with guilt) struck England. He never cared to really get to know Hong Kong, never cared to listen.
And that loud Prussia..had done that. And he had made the boy open up.
