It's not easy being Fenton Capwell.

"Uh, hello, Bristol." Fenton stutters, approaching the auburn haired girl. Her friend's eyes widen, her eyebrows raising, as Bristol turns around.

"Uh, hi, Fenton." she says awkwardly, adjusting her book bag strap.

"Well," Fenton's palms began to sweat. He had never felt like this before! What's going on? "As you may know, there is a movie night tomorrow night."

Bristol bites her bottom lip. "Uh, yeah."

Fenton's mouth becomes dry quickly, and he quickly blurts out, before he chickened out, "Do you think you would like to go with me?"

Bristol looks as if she wished she could disappear. "Uh, sorry, Fenton, but I already have a date."

His face falls. "Oh. Okay. Well, um, farewell, then." He quickly turns around, and rushes away.

When he enters his dorm, Ray is lounging on his bed, laptop perched on his knees, and Don is sitting with his head hanging over the side of his bed, throwing a ball at the wall.

Ray looks up. "Dude," he starts. "What's with you?"

"Nothing." Fenton replies, retreating to his bed. "Goodnight."

"It's six." Don says, but Fenton doesn't reply.

The next morning, Fenton awakes at his usual time, to go take his morningly hike.

As he's trudging through the leaves and stepping over branches, he hears a faint whimpering.

He decides to investigate.

As he searches more, he sees a small heap, curled up next to a tree.

And, as he gets closer, he recognizes the face.

"Bristol?" he asks.

Bristol looks up at him with sad, gray eyes, her face stained with tears. "Oh, hi, Fenton." She sniffles.

He kneels down. "What is wrong?"

She looks at him, as if contemplating whether to tell him or not, but she finally gives in. "Aaron broke up with me."

Fenton recognizes Aaron to be her date to the movie night that night. The reason why he couldn't go with him.

Bristol attempts to sit up straight. "I guess I had if coming." She bites her bottom lip. "Uh, do you want to go to movie night with me tonight?"

Say yes! Every cell in his body was chanting. This is what you've been waiting for! Say yes!

But what comes out of his mouth is, "No."

Bristol's eyebrows draw together.

Fenton gets up, suddenly not feeling so bad.

Maybe being Fenton Capwell is easier than he thought.
