A/N: Hey! I was thinking of writing a story for all the pokemon ships and this was my favorite one, so I'll start with this.

Warning: If you're one of "those people" who get enraged and throws tantrums that amourshipping isn't the ship featured in this story, then...don't read.

Otherwise, I hope you like this story! :D

"H-Hey, Ash?" Serena asked him, trying not to furiously blush as the two of them walked on the freshly paved road to the Poke Mart to stock up on supplies. Her hand not-so-accidentally brushed against his.

His hand was larger than hers, warm and comforting. What would it feel like to be able to slide her hand into his. To proudly tell the onlookers that they were dating. To go on dates - he would be the perfect gentleman and buy her a bouquet of roses, of course! To be able to go to restaurants alone...together...just the two of them...just like this.

Clemont was chasing down Bonnie who was currently proposing to practically every girl in town on her brother's behalf. Since the gang was hitting the road later that day, Serena and Ash were tasked with buying supplies.

This was the opportunity Serena had been looking for. She had been travelling with Ash for so long, that she had finally worked up her nerve to confess to him. So that's why she nervously initiated the conversation with him.

Well..she was always nervous around him and rarely spoke, but today, she had a larger excuse. She had spent so much time wondering when to tell him, that she never really figured out how to tell him.

Shit, she should have decided that sooner.

"Yeah? Serena?" He asked, his chocolate brown eyes meeting hers. She found herself thinking that his eyes were like chocolate in those swiss commercials, smooth and soft. The sun glowing over them didn't help.

She suddenly realized she was staring at him with her mouth ajar. She instantly shook her head and looked anywhere else, but his eyes. If she lost her nerve now, there was no telling when this opportunity would strike again.

She liked Clemont and Bonnie - Honestly, she did! - but they were always with Ash! She couldn't tell him that she loved him in front of them!

'Maybe, I should outright say it. But, will he think I'm to forward. Actually never mind. If he hasn't picked up on my hints so far, then I will literally have to spell it out for him,' Serena mused to herself.

"The thing is...Ash, I...I lov-"

"WOAH! Is that a flock of Swablu! I'm going to say hi. We'll talk later, Serena!" Ash said, running off into the distance, opening his pokedex in his right hand.

As soon as her crush was out of earshot, Serena let out a deafening sigh of defeat. Well...better luck next time.

"Ash, I have a new pokepuff recipe! Do you want to try it?" Serena asked, waving an amber-brown puff invitingly at Ash. it was now mid-afternoon and the sky was an orange gold-pink. They were on the way to the next town, and with luck they would make it around tomorrow morning.

He grinned. "Well, since you asked so kindly..."

He took an enormous bite out of the puff and the chocolate filling oozed out of his mouth, crumbs coating his face. "It's...delicious.." He said in between mouthfuls.

Serena was instantly aware of the closeness between them and felt her face starting to heat up. If she was blushing being around him, how on earth was she going to tell him!

"I'm glad you like it!" Serena smiled up at him, hoping her face had returned to it's normal color.

The gentle wind blew through the area and lifted her honey hair. She wondered if it made her look more attractive and appealing.

She thought her current outfit was pretty good. The only part of her body exposed were her thighs and arms. She thought it was a sexy enough outfit without revealing to much skin.

Her performance outfits exposed much more skin and were considerably more sexy, but Ash never really complemented her on her clothing, so maybe he wasn't that type of guy.

Which of course is totally fine. Serena wouldn't want to have a pervert boyfriend to begin with.

"Say, Serena, weren't you trying to talk to me earlier?"

Serena's eyes widened, and she glanced around at her friends. Clemont was lecturing Bonnie, and neither of them were paying any attention whatsoever to their companions. She focused her eyes on the blank space in front of Ash's shoulders.

"R-Right. I was." If she wasn't blushing before, she was definitely fire-truck red now.

"Well, can you just tell me now? Because, I'm totally going to forget otherwise."

"U-Um...Well, you see Ash, I-I love," Serena paused as his eyes widened and his jaw slightly opened.

'Oh, Fuck! He doesn't feel the same way! What the hell am I supposed to do now? I'll just pretend like I was going to say I love pokepuffs or something...' Serena thought anxiously.

But the instant Serena saw Ash's face, she knew he hadn't heard a thing she said. His eyes were wide and his entire body had gone rigid and stiff.

"Dawn?" The word tumbled out of his lips so soft that Serena could barely hear him. She had never seen him say anything so gentle or with so much care. Pikachu, who was currently talking to chespin, looked up at his master's voice.

"Pika?"

"Yeah, buddy, No wait-No, it's really..." Ash stuttered.

He repeated the earlier word, louder. A grin beginning to spread across his face. "DAWN!" He yelled, as he sprinted into the distance, past Serena. Within a instant, his pokemon partner had also started running.

"Pika!" It crooned, as if it too was extremely excited.

"ASH!" Serena called after him, futilely. He didn't even say bye this time.

"Where'd Ash go?" Clemont asked, his eyes drawn away from the lecture he was giving his younger sister, due to Ash and Pikachu's excited yells.

"Let's go find out!" Bonnie said, and the three of them began to sprint after him.
