A/N: This is how Ron Weasley's sorting should've gone.

"Weasley, Ronald."

Ron walked up to the stool wear the sorting hat was placed on his head.

Mmm. Curious. Wear shall I put you. Oh you are a difficult one you are.

Ron couldn't understand what the hat was talking about. It was obvious that he should go in Gryffindor.

No, not Gryffindor nor Ravenclaw. Hmm, I wonder.

Ron wished that the hat would just get on with it and put him in Gryffindor.

Fine. If you want me to hurry up then I will. And with that the hat shouted out….

"NOTHING!"

There were murmurs around the great hall. How is it that Ronald Weasley can't go into a house? It just isn't done.

"What is the meaning of this?" Professor McGonagall asked.

"Ron Weasley isn't suited for a house." The hat replied.

"Preposterous! Every student has a house."

"Not this dimwit. I can explain if you wish?"

"Please do."

Ron sat still waiting to see why the stupid hat wouldn't sort him.

The hat opened its brim and said "Ronald isn't cunning or ambitious so he can't go into Slytherin. He isn't brave so there goes Gryffindor. He is so lazy that he won't learn or practise meaning that he would be lucky to reach his O. let alone pass them so Ravenclaw is out. That only leaves Hufflepuff but he isn't loyal to his friends so he can't go there either."

Ron was furious. How dare that hat say that he can't go into a house.

"Well, that settles that. Mr Weasley I'm afraid you cannot attend Hogwarts this year. Goodbye." McGonagall said. And with that Ron disappeared in a flash of light that took him back home.
