It's So Beautiful
It was raining. Haru liked the rain. It made him feel happy inside, despite the cloudy sky and the loud thunder that usually made people feel depressed and tired.
The clouds were choppy, even though it rained quite large drops. It was slightly chilly rain, but once you got used to it, it wasn't so bad. "Like swimming," Haru thought, beaming up at the sky.
It was the middle of the night, but he had gotten up and went outside anyway. Everyone was sleeping in their houses. Haru stood in the middle of a tree-lined grass lawn; the pretty purple, pink, and yellow flowers closed in the darkness.
Haru felt lively and awake, regardless of the hour. He grinned widely at the sky. He was soaked through to the skin, but he could care less.
He didn't care what anyone thought of him; he began to sing. Something cool and quiet, though it seemed to carry for quite a long distance. His voice seemed wonderfully trained and clear. It seemed odd to Haru himself that his voice was so good, but he didn't mind. No one was around- he would never sing in front of any of them. Not ever.
But the rain. He loved the rain. And the rain, he knew, would never laugh down on him.
A tear of pure happiness dropped down his cheek, though barely visible through the rain. It dropped onto the ground, amongst the rest of the drops.
00000
The next day, they had been informed. Haru had gotten lost the night before and fallen down a large hill, striking his head on a rock. He was already gone when they found him. Only just around the corner from his home.
Yuki and Tohru walked through the same field Haru had been in the night before.
In the center, Yuki stopped. It sounded as though a voice was resonating throughout the field, bouncing off the nearby mountainous area.
"Do you hear that, Ms. Honda?" Yuki questioned.
"Hear what, Yuki-kun?"
"Oh!" Yuki darted forward, dropping to his knees.
In front of him, was a beautiful white flower.
"It's so beautiful." Haru.
