It all started out as a normal bug. Stomach pains, chills, nausea, sure, everyone gets a bug, right? Then, Jack noticed the rest of his crew was sick with the same thing. What was going on with them? Why were they all so sick so suddenly? Was something more serious than a little sea-bug happening to his crew? To him?
Jack was a little unwell. Just a little. Sure, he was already vomiting, but, who doesn't when they have a stomach ache? Will, Elizabeth, and the rest of his crew and friends were also sick, so he had no one to take care of him and couldn't very well take care of them when he was constantly leaning over the ship. He was tired, but the major pains in his stomach left him awake, irritated, angry, and over all…sick as a dog.
Will was trying to take care of Elizabeth and himself when he saw Jack leaning over the ship retching painfully. Will winced, slowly approaching Jack. He rubbed Jack's back while the captain retched, whispering, "So, I take it you have the bug as well?" Jack nodded before leaning back over the boat gagging. "So do I and Elizabeth. I think the whole crew is sick."
Jack finally fell asleep after his last bout of vomiting subsided. Will and Elizabeth kept their eyes on Jack when he came out of his quarters, ready to help if needed. When a week passed by and the crew seemed better again Will and Elizabeth, who had gotten well again quite quickly, decided to check up on Jack, whom they hadn't seen in days.
Knock, knock. "Jack? We were worried about you, the crews well again. Are you?" Elizabeth called, opening the door. "Jack?" Will asked, closing the door behind him. "M 'ere. Dying, but 'ere." Will and Elizabeth couldn't help but smile, Jack was always funny, sick or not. "Well, how are you feeling? Since the crew kicked whatever had them down, I'd recon you would've too." They approached Jack, smiling at him.
"Ugh, kill me please. Please, please, please put me out of my misery." Will noticed Jack was frail, shaking, and there was no glass nearby. Had Jack not gotten a drink? Didn't he know to keep hydrated? "Jack, I think I know why you aren't well unlike the rest of us. You need to keep hydrated. Here, drink this; it should make you feel better." Elizabeth said, holding a glass of cool water to Jack's lips. He sipped it, than gulped it down. He fell asleep after that.
Jack woke up the next morning. Fine and well enough to check his crew, he happily noted everyone was well again. What was the cause of their illness? Rotten fish, so they had gotten food poisoning.
