Plot : Soi Fong as I see her. My fav' bleach character EVER
Soft Spot
Soi Fong was an exceptional fighter and entirely loyal to Seireitei. She was serious and strong-willed, she never once strayed from her work. Some would call her weird, other cold and distant, some would even say that she was uptight (Shunsui, mainly), boring (Yachiru) and a bitch (pretty much everyone in fact). She had no real fondness for social relations, and although she did not really hate people - she was just angry at the world, which is different - she did not crave for their company either.
At first sight you could think she had nothing in her life, and at second and third sight too. Of course being the Captain of the 2nd Squad was a tiring job that required all her time, but as far as people in Seireitei knew she had no favorite food, color or place. She had no real hobby -unless you count kicking her vice-captain's ass as one. She did not drink, did not enjoy flashing people every now and then and had no particular obsession over candies.
While Vice-Captain Ise Nanao of the 8th division was married to her Captain -or close enough, after all they were always bickering like and old couple - Soi Fong was married to her job. Literally. Almost one hundred ago, as she pronounced her engagement vows, she made the silent oath to forget about everything that was not related to her duty. Fight, train, fight, train, kick ass, train… fight.
Such perfect devoted wife she was, except for that one thing. That dirty little perverted secret, always there in the back of her mind, taunting her. Shamefully hidden soft spot - Soi Fong was fond of cats.
Yes, you read well : "cats", those fluffy incredibly cute balls of fur. Never would she admit it out loud, but the fact was she would squeal away in delight at the mere sight of one of those - all the louder if it was a black one. Yes, Soi Fong could squeal, scary thought isn't it ?
Cats, she believed sadly, were the only creatures you could share your dream with and pour you heart to safely. They would listen quietly and stay as long as you kept the milk running.
Fortunately for Soi Fong's reputation there were very few cats (or animals for that matter) in Seireitei, but she could sometimes be found talking to a quite cute black cat. She would offer her a plate of milk and stroke her ears while telling away her secrets to the purring creature. Where the cat came from no one could tell. She came and went as she pleased. Because that is how cats are: independent ungrateful creature greedy of their freedom. And, though she knew that she never was and never will be able to get a cat to stay, Soi Fong could not help but love them.
