A Dash of Sugar:
Lightning McQueen hit the gas and changed the gear to go faster. He felt quite satisfied as he felt he knew he was going to win. He saw Chick Hicks behind him and The King close behind. Their engines revved and pushed on; the final lap was to come.
Chick growled at himself, and tried to pass Lightning. Lightning only replied by going faster. His heart raced as he passed the checkered flag.
One more to go…. He thought to himself. He suddenly heard a skid behind him; he glanced back and saw The King crash of the track. Chick, in desperate urge to win, sideswiped The King.
Lightning pondered for a moment, but the answer seemed clear then, he stopped and tried to go and help him.
Yes! Chick thought and chuckled to himself, I'm sure to win now!
"What is that?" He heard the announcer say.
Chick suddenly saw a heard a loud woosh pass him, which caused him to struggle with the wheel. "HUH?" He said out loud.
The blur passed the finish line and won the race.
"WHAT HOW?" Chick yelled, and passed the finish line, in second place, once again.
After Lightning had carried The King to the finish line, he had time to ponder on the little girl who was standing next to her hodgepodge cart. Yes, a go-cart.
Everyone was quite silent, except for the girl of course.
"I won, I won, I won!" Vonellope said. She didn't know how or why she was here, but all she knew is that she won a race. With really big carts.
"That's not fair!" Chick shouted.
"Says the cheater," Tex Dinaco said as he walked up to Vonellope. "Why, she's just a little girl! How 'bout that!" He marveled her. "What's your name, girl?"
"President Vonellope Von Schweetz!" She beamed.
"President," Tex laughed to himself. "This is a talented young lady here!"
After having helped put The King in the ambulance, Lightning was eager to see this "new racer".
Lightning was puzzled, "She's just a kid!" He exclaimed, "wow…"
Tex looked at Vonellope, "This girl is who the sponsorship belongs to." And he laughed amused.
"What?" Both Lightning and Chick said spontaneously.
Vonellope walked up to both Lightning and Chick.
"One for you," and she kicked Chick in the shin, which he responded with an "OW" and he hopped away.
"And for you," She looked at Lightning, "Could I drive in your giant cart?"
Lightning laughed, "If your tall enough."
Vonellope stuck out her tongue playfully.
That's the story of how Vonellope got the Dinaco sponsorship. Pretty silly, I know, but you never know; anything can happen in the Twilight Zone.
(That reference was silly of me, but I thought it something Rod Sterling would say.)
