AU - Over the course of the crazy werewolf/supernatural antics in Beacon Hill's Lydia and Issac became close friends. It's hard not too when pack business keeps pushing everyone together on a regular basis. They were both surprised to discover that they had a lot more in common then they thought. They were both always searching for acceptance, albeit in different ways, but they understood what it was like to feel alone in a room full of people.
It was only when Issac happened upon Lydia and Aiden flirting in the school halls that he begins to realize that his feelings for a certain strong-willed red head had developed into something more then friendly. He knew they were having sex, but somehow seeing them together drove it home on a more visceral level. However, he also knew that Lydia placed great value on her new found friendships. She would never want to compromise them with romantic feelings. So, Issac found himself stuck between a hard place and a red head. He felt almost possessed by the temptation to rip Aiden's throat out. So much so, that it's starting to affect his moods and Lydia could sense that there's something up.
Issac was at an impasse. Lydia kept asking him what was wrong and all he could do was grunt that was fine and promptly find an excuse to escape. If he didn't then he would do something stupid like kiss her. That's was only when he couldn't avoid her. Because, yeah, he'd taken to avoiding her. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Wrong! In fact it seemed to make him feel worse. He missed her like crazy; all he could do was think about her.
What the hell was he supposed to do?
He was out running with the Lacrosse team when Aiden began taunting him about his relationship - if you could even call it that - with Lydia. It was the last straw. Before he could comprehend his actions, Issac had wolfed out and attacking the alpha twin. Ethan had ran on ahead with Danny, meaning Aiden didn't have the added bonus of his brothers strength. They would never know who would have won the fight, because shortly-there-after, Ethan and Scott forced them apart, dragging their respective counterparts away from each other. Issac struggled against Scott's hold when Aiden threw out another derogatory comment pertaining to Lydia, but Scott refused to let him go. The sound of Coach's whistle signaled his approach so the four boys fell back into their teenage faces and resumed running once Coach had finished snarking.
Scott asked him what was wrong; he muttered something about girls and Lydia. Scott clapped him on the shoulder with three words of advise; talk to her.
That night his thoughts kept leading him in circles all ending with him confessing his sins. Because it would feel that way when she didn't reciprocate and he'd ruined his relationship with Lydia for nothing.
But then he was already ruining it, wasn't he?
Issac made up his mind and bit the bullet.
Lydia looked surprised, but happy to see him.
Confession time.
