So I was falling asleep when it suddenly hit me. I stayed up and wrote most of it. Hope you enjoy. So it basically is a one-shot of a scene during the seventh book of the Harry Potter series. Harry and Hermione have already been abondoned by Ron(the arse) and its like three days later. Harry finds Hermione asleep and starts wondering.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the Harry Potter characters JK Rowling does obviously. Her name is on all the books. Jeez.

His turn ended. He returned to the tent and headed toward Hermiones sleeping figure. He knelt down beside her. He noticed how peaceful she looked asleep, without a worry in the world. She reminded him of when they were young and carefree. Without the weight of the world. He smiled at their ridiculus adventures and thoughts. Ron, yes he had left them yet again. He had left them for a better home and life, yet Hermione didn't. She stayed with him and his problems. Harry's brows furrowed. Why didn't she he thought. She should have left with Ron, whom she has shown a romantic interest for. Then he started thinking about all the times Hermione hadn't left.

She didn't leave him during first year, when he faced Voldemort. She didn't leave in second year, when her status as a mud-blood put her in mortal danger. Not during third year, when he and Ron didn't speak to her over silly things. She was there ready to welcome him back and even helped him save Sirius. She didn't leave in fourth year, when nobody, not even Ron, believed that he didn't put his name in. No, she was there helping him get through the tasks and even tried to reconciliate him and Ron, even though it would irritate her. She believed him when he said Voldemort was back. She didn't leave in fifth year, when he was moody and snappy all the time. She helped him even though he was wrong and had snapped at her. Tears fell as he thought of how his stupidity almost caused her-her life. It still gave him nightmares. She didn't leave him during sixth year, when he was so stubborn about that darn book. And now, she didn't leave him to go with Ron, her supposed love. She didn't leave him for a more peaceful life. Then he thought about all the times she saved his arse. She was always there faithfully and ready to defend him. Then it hit him, he needed her. He always did and always will. He loved her. He didn't want to be with anyone but her. She always made him smile and feel that they could solve the worlds problems. He knew that she would never leave him. He felt comfortable telling her things he wouldn't tell Ron or anyone else.

He touched her cheek and traced her jaw line. How soft she felt. He looked at her eyes full of knowledge, tragedy and loyalty. He touched her hair, her bushy brown hair, which he always loved. Finally, his eyes rested on her lips. Oh, how soft and tempting they seemed. He closed his eyes and gave her a soft kiss. She tasted like toffee. Then he murmered, "I love you Hermione. I always have and always will."

"Hmm Harry." Hermione said. Harry froze. Had she awaken? She came closer to him but was still asleep. He caressed her hair a few times before leaving. He couldn't risk getting caught. When he was outside he jumped with joy. She was dreaming of him. Not of Ron but of him. But then again why did she go after Ron. The answer was simple, because he was hooked on Cho for two years then he went with Ginny. She probably thought he would never love her. He smirked, how wrong was are you, he thought. Hermione had made it clear that when it came down to him or Ron, she would choose him. Ron he thought. For the first time he thought about Ron's feelings. He liked Hermione. Not enough to stay he thought. Just cause he's a traitor doesn't mean you have to be one. We will let her choose.
