A prompt suggested by MidnightDawn999. :)
I do NOT own any DareDevil characters. Just borrowing. (I'll give them right back. ;) Only thing I own is my mind, and the bit of writing I put into this.
Enjoy, and thank you to anyone who reads.
Matt knew Foggy was staring. It didn't take a genius—or even sight—to know that. He shook his head. He wasn't giving in to this. A smile tugged at the edge of his lips, because, even if he didn't want to do it... it was still good to have a friend that TRIED.
"Come on, Matt! Don't tell me you're too catholic to have fun! Don't even try."
Foggy's voice was sardonic and teasing. Matt was about to respond...
"I'm crossing my arms and frowning," Foggy stated.
"I guessed you might be. And no, I'm not wasting several perfectly good hours at a bar. But thank you for trying."
"Dude! Matt... Matt... really."
Matt cocked his head to one side. He could sense Foggy's motion as his friend moved toward him. Blurred shadows of red, orange, and white light shifted, and this was confirmed as he felt Foggy's hand on his shoulder.
"Like I was saying... Dude, you're boring."
"Not boring, just have more important things to do than-"
"Than what? Celebrating your birthday? Really? 'Cause, last I checked, we don't have jobs-yet... and we've got nowhere better to be."
"Foggy, anywhere and everywhere is better than a bar." Matt laughed and finally allowed the smile that he'd been hiding. Of course, he wasn't going to mention the other reasons he didn't like bars. They were loud-VERY loud-and smelled like strong alcohol, (not shocking) and sweat.
"Blasphemy! The bar is the best place to be-all hours of the day... but better at night. Besides, there'll probably be hot women-and I mean HOT... And you could use your sixth sense to locate them... I mean, it's uncanny, you really can do that-" Foggy started rambling on about it.
Matt smiled. "Again, it doesn't really matter how they look-not to me. Just so long as they sound all right."
Foggy laughed. "Right-but still... it helps when they're hot. So, we going? Come on, say yes."
Matt shifted and looked down, then back up, looking in Foggy's general direction. "Fine, if I don't, you'll never let me hear the end of it."
"Darn right I won't. Let's go."
