Slamming her locker closed, Sydney roughly sat down on the bench to pull on her socks and shoes. "How could I be so stupid?" she mumbled to herself. Pulling on a sock she nearly pulled her foot right through it, "He practically admits that he likes me," she pulled her other sock on, then one shoe, "And he asks me to kiss him again." with that she pulled her last shoe on and stood quickly, "Then I go off and kick him in the face!" she nearly yelled. With a frustrated shake of her head she lifted her gym bag and exited the locker room.
Insert normal Ranger business here
Later that night, as she sat in her motel room Sydney just couldn't stop thinking through what had accrued between Gage and herself earlier that day. Standing she ran her hands threw her wet hair, "How could anybody be that stupid?" she questioned the empty room. Giving a frustrated groan/cry she turned to the nearest wall and slammed her fists into it, "How could I be that stupid?!" she moaned, her nose resting against the wall.
After a few moments she straightened and began to pace, "What if I were to go to his room right no?" she wondered out loud, "But what if he's still mad I kicked him, when he was expecting a kiss?" she countered herself, "He'd probably just slam the door in my face and I wouldn't blame him." Sighing she stopped her pacing in front of the mini bar, without much thought she squatted down and popped it open, easily she choose a few mini bottles of Jack Daniels ole' No. 7.
With another sigh she plopped down on her bed and cracked one open, taking it all with merely a wince. "But I know I love him." she whispered, "We get along so well, we may not agree on everything, but who dose?" With a light laugh she cracked open a second bottle, taking it as quickly as the first. "And if he loves me back the same, how can he shut the door on me?" With a groan she threw herself back on the bed, "I should go to him." she whispered.
After only a couple of minutes she bolted upright and out the door, nearly forgetting her room key in the haste.
When she finally made it to Gage's room she nearly lost her nerve, her hand dangling in mid air over the door, "Have some guts, do it!" she coxed herself. Then without hesitation she knocked, and after only a minute she was ready to run, play dumb when he asked if anyone else had someone knock and ditch.
But before her brain had a chance to tell her legs to run, the door opened and there stood Gage, clad only in a pair of boxers. "When he spotted her he looked confused, yet happy. "Sydney, what are you doing here?" he asked.
Clearing her trought she tried to think of a reason for her being there, "I… A…" but one just wouldn't come, so she threw her inhabitances to the wind. Stepping forward quickly she threw her arms around his neck and kissed him with all of her might.
When they finally parted Gage looked into her deep brown eyes and seen the love, but he also smelled and tasted the whisky on her, "Sydney," he said cautiously, "Are you sure…."
"I'm sober." she assured him, knowing why he was being hesitant, he was such a gentlemen, "Now, take it or leave it!" she demanded.
With wide eyes he growled as he lifted her into his arms, "I'll take it!" he said, as he kicked the door closed, closing out he world from a fantasy, way over due!
