I am a writer. We all are. The difference between us is that we write for different purposes. For fun. For homework. For leisure. For letting out emotions. My purpose? To spread the word. That demigods are not what you think they are. I know, because I am one of them.

I'm Bianca Jackson-Cahill, daughter of Poseidon. My brother is Percy Jackson. I know you have questions. We all do. But save them for later. For now, I have quite a bit of explaining to do. You see, when the author Rick Riordan found out about us, he got excited and started writing stories that weren't completely true. When we found out, it was already too late. The whole world knew of our existence, but they had the wrong mental image.I hope you understand.

If you look at me, you'll see a regular ten-year-old girl with hazel-blonde hair tied in double French braids. That girl has deep turquoise eyes like the middle of the sea. But if you look further into her soul, you'll see me - a demigod far from normal, hiding in fear of what the mortals think. You got that right. Me.

Yes, I know what you're thinking: Bianca, if you're a super-powerful demigod child of one of the Big Three, then why are you scared of us, mere mortals? I'm sorry. That's all I can say. I'm sorry. True, I've jumped out of burning buildings, and buildings collapsing from the inside. I've jumped off an exploding boat, and climbed the Eiffel Tower with no protection whatsoever. But, I'll admit, I'm scared of you.

I was raised on Olympus, and didn't meet a single mortal until I was seven. Now, you may ask, What were you doing on Olympus? Isn't it for the gods? Well, here is your answer. When I was born into the Jackson family, Percy was seven. He went to school, like any other seven-year-old. But that was also the year that monsters started tracking him. I guess two demigods, with the same dad, in one mortal family made them too easy to spot or something. Then, as a solution, Poseidon came over, and brought me to Olympus to stay in his private palace. So, as Percy led the poor Manhattan life, I was treated like a princess up on Olympus.

Which I am, in a way. I don't particularly care. I didn't know that Percy was my brother on the mortal side as well as the godly side until the day before yesterday, actually, where the demigods were ordered to go to our mortal home. I knew that Sally Jackson was my mom; Poseidon had told me that much. So you could imagine both Percy and my surprise when we ended up on the same doorstep. I was so young when I left home for Olympus - three months. So no wonder I didn't recognise Percy as my "blood brother". That was when my mom told the story to Percy and I about the monsters haunting Percy's school, and my being sent to Olympus. Gods, I didn't know my family was that complicated!

Another thing you're going to ask: Why are you telling me this? Simple. For all you demigods in that crowd of mortals, feel better about your life. I'm just saying, I've seen worse. And being kicked out of schools because you were "naughty" or didn't concentrate is completely normal for demigods. So, if any of you reading this feel a sudden stirring of recognition, come to the Empire State Building as soon as you are able to sneak away from your protective, mean, or nice mortal parents. We need you here. To train. Another war is coming, we fear, and we need all the demigods we can find trained, experienced, and armed with weapons. Otherwise, doom will befall us, and soon our kind - the demigods - would be forgotten. We need as many demigods as possible. Come to the Empire State Building. I'll be waiting.
