"He...was the only one I liked...he made me feel...like I had a heart."
Swirling purple-black lie all around him and his chest was on fire. He could feel a cold sweat shrouding his entire body.
God's dying was painful.
But as he looked into the soft blue of Sora's eyes, (so much like his eyes) he knew he'd had to do it. And he was glad he had, he had been able to protect Sora and that was all that mattered. (Just like he couldn't protect him.)
Roxas . . .
He grimaced. Apparently dying also made you incredibly sappy, But hey if he was going to die anyway then there was no reason to hold back right? Smirking at the thought he continued.
"It's kinda...funny. You make me feel...the same...."
At the look on the kids face, he thought better of it. No need to burden him with things that could never happen, right? Especially now . . .
"Kairi's in the Castle dungeon. Now go."
He had just enough energy left in him to summon a portal to Never Was. The last thing he heard was his name whispered sadly on Sora's lips.
"Axel . . ."
Closing his eyes for the final time, he managed one last thought before everything went black.
