CHAPTER ONE
My name is Kyle Benson and I'm just a random citizen in the city. Things are a lot different since I was kid. I remember when the city used to be such a happy place. Now everything is bland, and all the buildings white and blue with a splash of orange. I've learned to get use to it, I think everyone has, well...mostly everyone. The city always talk about these "Runners" that are bold criminals that are experts in free running. I have yet to see one. Everyone says they wear red, have unexplainable scratches or marks and torn up clothing. Nothing I've seen before.
I'm currently going to work. I'm a construction worker. I am currently doing repairs on one of the new high rises. I'm only 24 years old so I either can be what I am now or be a cop, but being a cop is not really a thing I want to be into. I live in a decent apartment building east of the city. I aspire to be a rich business man and own a luxurious estate, but too bad dreams aren't reality.
When I arrived at work I got to my designated spot which is scaffolding 50 stories above the ground. I got my tools and went to work. Around noon the other guys were eating lunch, having already ate I was alone. I as I went into the construction lift to go get some more supplies. I saw something moving pretty fast at the
corner of my eye. I was a bit curious so I decided to move up to the roof of the building. I saw someone sprinting across I followed him. As the figure rounded a corner around a boiler room I lost sight of him. Just I got to the boiler room. I got punch in the right of the face, knocking me flat on the ground.
My right ear rang and my vision became blurry. As I regained my senses I notice that the figure I have been chasing wasn't a man at all. It was a woman...and a runner.
