All of the signs that pointed to Joe being gay were there and perfectly clear. It would only take a little getting to know him to figure it out, but it was quite obvious even if you didn't know him. So why didn't anyone know? Joe had known for almost four years, even though he was dancing and singing around the stage every night for thousands of girls, who claimed they were going to marry him one day. He knew that would never happen though, because he truly and happily liked guys, but had no idea how to tell people.
So, there Joe paced, with his hands deep inside his tight pockets, thinking about how the conversation would go. Either his parents and brothers wouldn't care, or they'd disown him and kick him to the curb. The last option was quite doubtful, because his family was deeply religious. That was the problem though, they were too religious, and if they knew he was gay, then they'd call him a sinner and throw holy water on him repeatedly.
"Joe, you ok, man?"He turned his head toward his younger brother, immediately shaking his head. Nick was the only person who knew that he gay, and he was completely fine with it. At first, he was a little confused on what was going on, but a week or so later he was back to normal and treating him the same. He'd even gotten to the point where on a couple occasions he'd ask Joe if he thought a certain guy was cute, which often caused Joe to die of laughter. It was so cute how his little brother was trying to help.
"No, I'm not ok, because I'm freaking out here, Nick! How am I supposed to tell mom, dad, and Kevin that I'm gay?!"
The younger boy gulped and ran his hand through his curly brown locks.
"I think you just did."
Joe turned his body around almost instantly, his entire face dropping the moment he saw their faces.
