At first, Harry is under the impression that Hermione, lost in her studies, can't hear him.
But then, once he stops talking, he sees her breathe a tiny sigh of relief, and he decides it's war.
"You know Hermione, I'm rather considering going gay."
She doesn't respond, knowing he's just trying to get her talking.
"Ron is a rather likely candidate. We've been friends forever. He'd probably agree."
No response. Harry turns it up a notch.
"Or perhaps Professor Snape. I've heard he doesn't oppose that sort of thing…"
Finally, her lips twitch upward.
"I win," and he kisses her.
