My name is Samus Aran. My parents were killed right in front of me by the dreaded space pirate Ridley. I was given into the care of the Chozo Civilization by the Galactic Federation. They raised me to adulthood, teaching me the value of peace. They trained me to fight and gave me my Varia Suit and paralyzer gun. I became a bounty hunter in order to help me resresearch my past, but everywhere I go, the space pirates follow. For what purpose did they come to my homeworld? Why did my parents have to die? This is my story.
My search starts on a planet far on the outer edge of the galaxy. The Federation asked me here to help contain an extreme Metroid outbreak that was killing the natives. The planet used to be one of the Federation's greatest hubs for culture and history, but the space pirates invaded and started the outbreak. There is a rumor that a surviving Chozo family resides here. I hope I can meet the family and they can give me the information I seek.
A swarm of Metroids was attacking a small village. I equip my missile pack and Charge Shot and go in.
After killing a bunch of Metroids, a human woman calls me.
"Are you Samus?" she asks.
"Yes," I reply.
"The great Chozo call. They have some information for you."
"The Chozo family survives? Where are they?"
"Follow me," the woman said. "I'll take you to them."
The woman leads me to a cave about three miles away from the village.
"They are somewhere in this cave," she says, "but I don't know exactly where."
"If we work together," I reply, "we should find some clues."
We go down a path deep into the cave until we find a place where it splits into two paths.
"What's your name?" I ask.
"Marinda Aran," the woman replied.
"Marind— You wouldn't happen to be related to Joshua and Patricia Aran, would you?"
"Yes. They were my aunt and uncle. That's how I knew who you were even with the suit on. I recognized your voice from recordings I had heard. I am proud to be related to the famed bounty hunter."
"A surviving Aran... I never thought there were any of us left! Do you know why my parents had to die at the flame of Ridley?"
"I have been trying to find that out myself! They were great people. I am sorry you didn't know them. I only know stories myself."
