This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time, because I have a bunch of cute/sad/or otherwise emotional friendship scenes and short stories that either didn't develop into a full blown fic or were cut out of another of my fics (for example, I have a thousand different ways in which Glinda and Elphaba could reunite post musical)…so here is where all the delightful little Gelphie trinkets I've stored up will finally see the light of day again…
Some stories will be long enough to almost be a multi chapter and some will be drabbles…I will update this whenever I have ideas; that is, there will not be a regular update schedule…
I hope that you guys enjoy this…
This particular fic was inspired by the ending of A Very Potter Musical in which Voldemort and Quirrel (sp?) reconcile…it was too cute to pass up…
This is a mixture of book and musical aspects
"Your Goodness I've brought that new dress," called a nervous maid as she entered the blonde woman's quarters. Glinda briefly looked up from her desk.
"Thank you Yaleth," she murmured distractedly.
"Is something wrong ma'am?"
"No," Glinda sighed. "All these speeches just have me weighed down right now."
"Well I've brought a spot of good news," Yaleth offered, hoping to cheer up her mistress. "The Wicked Witch of the West has been killed." The blonde stiffened.
"What? When?"
"Last night. News just reached the Emerald City today." Glinda clutched her quill so tightly that it snapped in half.
"How did it happen?" she whispered hoarsely.
"That little girl, Dorothy, threw a bucket of water at her," Yaleth explained, somewhat mystified by her mistress's reaction. "The Wicked Witch just melted into nothingness."
Glinda found herself suddenly choking on air. "Leave me," she wheezed.
"Ma'am?"
"Leave me!" As soon as the maid was gone Glinda stumbled to her bed, where she collapsed. "Dead?" she whimpered. Tears coursed down the blonde's cheeks as her entire body shook with sobs. "Oh Elphie." Glinda wasn't sure how long she lay there before she sensed another presence in her room.
"Please go away," the blonde all but begged, assuming that her concerned maid had returned.
"My sweet."
She froze. Trembling, she turned towards the achingly familiar voice. A blurry, cloaked figure stood behind her. Glinda could make out emerald, hawkish features beneath the hood of her visitor. "Elphie?" she gasped. "Is that really you?"
The apparition let her hood fall back. "What's left of me," she replied.
"But I just heard that you were…"
"Killed?" Elphaba interrupted. "Yes." She smiled weakly. "But Glinda, there's a part of me that's still here, and I can't go on to the next plane without it." The blonde's disbelieving face creased in puzzlement. Elphaba moved to sit beside her friend. As she came closer her misty form became more substantial. Silently the green girl pressed an open palm to the spot above Glinda's heart.
"What happened to you Elphie?" the smaller woman wondered.
"The world happened," Elphaba muttered. "I tried my damndest to fight the Wizard but then…then everything around me started falling to pieces. And when things were at their worst I kept thinking about my time at Shiz with you. I said to myself, maybe with Glinda things would be ok."
The blonde woman's eyes were wet with tears. "Is ok good?"
A grin stretched across Elphaba's face. "Ok is wonderful."
"So…so you came back?" Glinda's heart was thudding in her ears; she couldn't believe that Elphie was somehow still here with her.
"I came home."
