I'm sooooooooooooo sorrrryyyy. Really. If It told you for the last two months I've done nothing but school work literally every single night would you believe me. Anyways it's the reviews that got me back and while this is extremely short, it's because of my eagerness to update, and that two will be longer and is almost done. Almost. Enjoy and review.

Chapter 1: A Kiss

Sunday again. Excruciating. To go there every week, waiting. It's been so long since the Games have ended, but nothing. In the weeks following the Games she has been everywhere. Smiling, laughing, kissing on the screen. Giving every stranger a piece of her. A little Katniss for everyone except me.

Oh and guess what? Apparently I'm her cousin now. Great. So any kisses I give her (in a remote chance) would not only be cheating but incest.

Great.

I've been busying myself in the mines, still hunting. Following the routine, still turning on the t.v. every night at seven. And come sunday, I go out to the woods and wait, and wait, and wait.

This is about the seventh or eighth one and I decide to not go. I hold out for about ten minutes after the usual time and I trudge over, being the masochist I am.

And I have to stand there for a minute not believing my eyes. Has the Girl on Fire graced me with her presence? I don't make much gathered thought I just feel. Joy, anger, sadness, longing.

Her face lights up like fire and we meet. She breaks down and starts sobbing and laughing. I pat her and wonder what could possibly happen in her perfect life. Or maybe she's just happy to see me. Sure. I know better, she just put everything that happened into her tears. Though the lack of words still leave me in a cloud of confusion.

"S'ok Catnip," I mumble.

She breaks apart, and retrieves our weapons, tossing me mine's.

"So how's Greasy Sae?" she begins, a safe topic, as we walk to our usual spot to start hunting.

"Great, she collected a fund to sponsor you." And that's as close to the Games we get.

"Really?" she asked with a grin. "That's nice."

"Yeah, you've got more fans than you'd think." Including me.

"Surprised?"

"Very. Who'd like such a cranky girl like you," I tease.

She scowls at me, demonstrating the truth of my statement. How I've missed it. "Ease up," I pat her and kneel into hunting position. As my knee hits the ground Katniss already has a squirrel in her hand, shot through the eye.

"Fast shot," I mutter. She grins appreciatively.

We talk about everything but what happened in the Capitol. Neither of us broach the topic, as it is a sore topic, understatement of the year. And as I watch her, hunt, talk, move, I can't help but want to kiss her. I think about her and Peeta.

But right now, I'm not letting that stop me.

"Should I go through the sn-" she begins and I cut her off, doing what I've been longing to do since what feels like forever. I expect her to recoil and jerk back. What I am not prepared for is her kissing me back, moaning and curling up to me.

Not sure what to do, I let go and tell her, "I had to do that. At least once."

Then I walk away, leaving her with only half of the truth.
