A thresher maw. A fucking thresher maw. No, it HAD to be a maw! It couldn't be a couple thousand
varren or a yarg or two. Instead, they call this 10 ton worm for her to kill before time runs out.
Memories of Akuze bubbled up to the surface, causing bile to rise in her throat. She swallowed it down,
leaving her with a sick feeling in her gut, and a flood of memories best left forgotten. She closed her
eyes and took deep breaths as Grunt cheered with joy at the sight of this "battle worthy beast". Battle
worthy my ass! She opened her eyes in time to see the beast rear back. Shepard threw herself behind
cover as the maw roared into the sky, shaking the ground. Fear gripped her petrifying her as a scream of
panic rose in her throat. She closed her eyes tightly. She opened the again, but everything had changed.
Where was everyone? She heard a voice calling her. "Shepard!" It sounded so familiar. She took in her
surroundings, trying to find the source of the voice. But all she saw was blood. She swept her eyes over
the bloodstained landscape. Dead bodies lay strewn around her. Blood covered every rock and plant.
Even she was covered in blood! "Shepard!" "Are you alright?" The voice questioned again. She
remembered the name! "Garrus?" "Garrus!" She yelled. She was being shaken. There was a flash of light
and she was back on Tuchanka, with a very worried Garrus shaking her. "Commander!" "Snap out of it!"
he shouted. She covered her face with her hands as tears streamed down her face. "Not again, Garrus.
"Not again." She moaned. He brushed the tears off her face and cradled her face in his hands. "It's
okay." He soothed" It won't hurt you." She looked up at the maw. And the more she stared, the angrier
she got. Her anger turned to hate. Hate for the thing that slaughtered her friends. She picked up her
weapon and stood. She took aim at the creature and fired. The maw screamed in pain as she fired off
another bullet. Her grimace turned into a crazed grin as it dove back into its hole. She reloaded her
weapon, now understanding why Grunt enjoyed this so much. It came out again, as she prepared her
incinerate. It fired its acid as she let the incinerate fly. Both made their mark, taking out her shields as
her made the fatal blow. It stilled, swayed, and fell to the ground with a giant thud. Stalking away to her
teammates. Grunt was grinning ear to ear as Garrus stared at her slack jawed. A ship flew over head and
Grunt said" Good" "I want more". "Me too" she thought as they walked off to meet more opposition.
