Marinette and Adrien are best friends, even though Marinette has a HUGE crush on Adrien that he doesn't know about.
Adrien doesn't know it, but Marinette is being bullied by all of her friends. They all think she's friends with him because she wants him to fall in love with her. But that's obviously not what Marinette's trying to do.
One night, Adrien and Marinette were texting. Then, out of no where, Adrien asks a question. He types, "Hey Marinette, we're friends, right?"
Marinette leaves Adrien's text on Read. Adrien gets worried about Marinette since she isn't answering. Adrien decides to go to Marinette's house as Chat to make sure she's okay.
When Marinette read the text, she simply walked to her balcony without saying a word.
Chat spots Marinette on her balcony and is glad that she's safe. As he turns to go, he hears her voice.
"ADRIEN YOU IDIOT!! How could you?!?"
He was suddenly taken aback by the sudden outburst. "I...I love you Adrien! But everyone at school says that I'm desperate! And... they're right. Even Alya won't talk to me because she doesn't want to get caught up in all of the drama. I'm all alone. Am I still just another girl to you? Your texting buddy? Am I still...a friend?"
And with those words, Chat saw a tear fall.
Marinette took a deep breath. Then she says, "I shouldn't be so selfish. I need to answer." She picks up her phone and types a few words. She hesitantly sends the text. Chat pulls his phone out of his back pocket, and the text says, "Of course we're friends :)"
Chat looks up from his phone to see Marinette kneeling on the ground, crying softly. He finally realizes how much
she's been through to keep him happy. He jumps down from the roof and stands behind her. She sees him and tries to quickly wipe her tears, but they were still very visible. With his arms wide open, Chat says "I heard everything. Come here." Marinette quickly rushes to his arms and starts bawling.
They embrace for what seems like forever, and Marinette falls asleep in his arms. Chat de-transforms into Adrien, and decides to go down into Marinette's room to lay her down. He kisses her forehead and says," I'm sorry Marinette. I'll make it up to you, I promise."
