Note: I really have no clue why this idea came to my head. Well, I did see a video with this couple on youtube and for some reason I was motivated.

CHAPER ONE

Sakura was quietly humming to herself as she sat in front of her mirror brushing out her hair. She took note that it was getting close to being time for another trim. Sometimes she still couldn't believe how much better she liked her hair being on the shorter side. She'd spent so many years of her life growing it out for one person that she'd forgoted that she actually liked having it short. Well, no time to worry about that now. Time was short and she still had to put on a bit of make up. Not being too worried about how classy she looked she quickly put on a bit of mascara, a bit of blush and lip gloss with the slightest tint. After all...this was Naruto...he'd topple head over for her if she showed up with no make up in sweats. She'd noticed however in the last few weeks since Naruto had gotten home from his 3 year training trip that something seemed to have sparked inside her and she found herself being more drawn to him physically.

'There, that'll have to do' she thought as she gave herself on more look in her full length.

She and Naruto had agreed to meet at his favorite ramen place to have lunch and then spend the afternoon together. Naruto even asked her to go properly and offered to pay. She thought it was kind of sweet that Naruto had asked her out and figured it might be a good time for her to explore whatever feelings she may have in fact been gaining for him. Finally ready she went down the stairs of her appartment building, out the door and was on her way. She arrived only just moments before Naruto and didn't mind at all. She didn't want to think that she had made him wait for her after how long it took her to even acknowledge him. He's worked so hard to have people acknowledge him that he deserved better than that.

"Hey Sakura Chan!" Naruto walked up and gave her a friendly hug and she let him. "I hope you haven't been waiting for me too long. I got into a fight with my washing machine at home." His hand went to the back of his head and he giggled a little.

"It's okay Naruto" she exclaimed. "I've only been here for just a few moments myself. Shall we eat?" She smiled and then got a curious look. "Naruto?"

"Hmm?"

"Who won?"

At this Naruto became very confused. "Who won what, Sakura?"

"Your battle with the washing machine...who won?" She was wearing a mischievious smile now.

Naruto did nothing but blush in response which made Sakura laugh. She had known that it would be mean to ask the question since Naruto always had trouble when he did laundry, but she couldn't help herself. The way he acted when he was embarassed was one of the things she had started to find endearing about him. After a moment he began to laugh at himself as well.

"Well, if it will cut down on the teasing maybe I should just have YOU do my wash for me." he laughed.

After they regained their composure they sat down at the counter and each ordered their ramen of choice. Sakura even asked for a second bowl when Naruto did which for some reason caused a big smile to appear on his face. Deciding that going for a third bowl would probably be rude since he was pretty sure this was an actual date and paid the tab. With that the two left the small building and started walking down the streen together. Both just walked silently for a while being quite content with just being in each others company. Finally Naruto spoke.

"I know I've probably said this about a hundred times already..." he blushed a bit. "but I really did miss you while I was away, Sakura chan..." Sakura smiled and couldn't help but notice that right now he was acting the way Hinata used to act around him. She wondered if he were given time to really think about it if he'd be able to figure out that Hinata had cared about him.

"I know, Naruto." She put her hand on his cheek and gave him a warm smile. "I've really missed you too." She then laughed at the moment of shock on his face followed by a smile a relief.

The two soon found themselves at the Konoha village park and decided to sit on the swings since all they were doing was walking anyway.

Hinata was in her yard at home working on a few moves that Neji had been helping her with. A while after Naruto had left on his training tip Neji had noticed Hinata becoming more distant. Knowing it was her missing Naruto and also knowing that it may be a very long time before his return he had suggested that she focus more on her own training so that she was that much better of a ninja when he returned. Hinata had thought it was a great idea to help keep herself focused and even asked Neji if he would help her. Of course he had agreed. Hinata was already a lot more confident of herself. For one she was a lot better about not stuttering around Naruto when he came back. She still blushed whenever he spoke to her, but you'd have to be really looking at her to notice it and she was always able to hold her composure around him. Also to Neji's delight Hinata had continued her training with him even after Naruto was back. In fact it was possible that Hinata and Neji had become best friend. Outside of Ten Ten of course who had been Hinatas life long friend and also been dating Neji since about a year after Naruto had gone when he finally got the guts to ask her out. Ten Ten actually helped a lot with the training it had made her so happy when her best friend and the guy she liked were finally getting along like family should. It seemed that for once the difference of their family lines was no longer an issue. They were cousins plain and simple.

"Your form is looking really good."

Hinata looked up to see Neji leaning against the railing on the porch.

"Oh hi, Neji." Hinata said, "Want to train?"

"Sorry I have plans in just a bit with Ten Ten and I wanna smell alright for her." He stood up straight and tried to look like a gentleman which made Hinata laugh.

"Alright then, will you say hi to Ten Ten for me?"

"We're just going to be hanging out if you wanted to take a quick shower and come along you're more than welcome to" He said.

After thinking about it for moment she decided to take him up on his offer. She'd already been training all morning so she figured it was okay to take the rest of the day off to just have some fun. She did a couple stretches to ease her muscles a bit and then ran up the steps and into the house.

"I'll be just a few minutes!" she called over her shoulder.

Up in the bathroom Hinata took a moment to brush through her hair before taking off her clothes. She had stopped only at her bedroom for a moment to pick up something clean to wear. In the shower she did what she usually did while in the shower and thought about how much she had changed over the last few years. Ten Ten had had a very serious conversation with her recently and told her that she was so proud of the woman that Hinata had made herself into. Aside from being the most developed of all their friends she had been able to conquer most of the wall that she had build around herself. The fact that she acted more brave around Naruto was only the tip of the iceburg. Her new behaivor was seen everywhere by everyone. Even her father had noticed that the little girl who seemed insignificant had grown up in more ways than one.

'I think the only person who doesn't realize how much I've changed is the person who ddin't seem to ever notice my behavior before..." she sighed. 'Of course he always did have his eyes set on Sakura so I guess it's understandable that he never noticed my feelings for him...'

With that Hinata got out of the shower, dressed in a black shirt and jeans and went downstairs to meet Neji.

Sakura and Naruto were almost doubled over with laughter. They had spent the last while doing nothing but talk about past events and memories. The current laughter was caused while talking about their test they took when Kakashi sensei was first assigned as the leader of team 7. Neither one of them could believe how cook they thought they had been back then and both were definitely grateful for the training they'd gone through since then. It came in handy after Naruto got back and they went through the exercise to get the bells from Kakashi again.

"We were so different back then.." Sakura said finally a little out of breath.

"That for sure." Naruto smiled, "for one you wouldn't be here with me..you'd be off somewhere trying everyting you could to get Sasuke to notice you."

She frowned a bit for a moment and sighed then looked at him a smiled. "Like I said..we were both different people back then. Sasuke was a different person to. To me he was a person who was worth recognizing." He kicked her foot in the dirt. "But he didn't turn out to be what I thought he was..."

"and what did he turn out to be?"

"A coward...a runaway...lonely...coward. That's all he has been to me for a long time now." she looked up at him with a serious look on her face "I really admire you for proving yourself to the village as much as you have, Naruto. You've outdone Sasuke in all the most important ways.

"Well, there now we can let bygones be bygones since you decided Sasuke wasn't worth your time anyway" Naruto said

Sakura became slighthly confused and asked "What are you talking about, Naruto?"

"Oh you remember, back in school when I got knocked into Sasuke and as you put it...stole"

"His first kiss" Sakura interrupted as it came back to her. She laughed a bit. "Yeah, I guess I could forgive you for that...but paying you back seemes like more fun!" She stuck her tongue out briefly at him.

"Well, under the circumstances there's only one way for you to really pay me back in fair way...you're going to have to kiss a girl I like." He smiled a little wickedly at her. "Of course though if I had to pick who I like most it would probably be you...so I don't know. Hehehe!"

"Hmmm...well I am really thinking I want my revenge.."she said thoughtfully "So you'll just have to act upset by me kissing someone other girl."

Naruto did a face drop at the thought that Sakura had actually just consented to kissing a girl.

"Okay THIS I gotta see!"

Just then they saw Hinata, Neji and Ten Ten walking towards them.

"Hey Naruto, Sakura!" Neji greeted them and everyone said hello to eachother.

"What are you two up to today?" Ten Ten asked.

"Oh we've just been talking about life and the past." Sakura smiled.

"Hmmm..."Naruto put his forefinger and thumb under his chin. "Speaking of that Sakura when do you plan on paying me back for what I did? After all Hinata and Ten Ten are both here right now and I do admit I think they are both very pretty so I think it could count either way."

Sakura and Naruto laughed at the puzzled looks on their faces.

Then Sakura said, "Well, it'd have to be Hinata since Neji is right here...it just wouldn't seem right."

With that Neji wrapped his arms protectively around Ten Ten which made everyone giggle.

"Well...you did ruin my wonderful plans those years ago, Naruto and you DO deserve to have me pay you back." She turned to Hinata who still seemed lost by the conversation. "Okay Hinata...first I want to say don't freak out at me, but this is something I have to do to get back at Naruto."

With that before anyone could speak Sakura stepped forward grabbing Hinata by her cheeks and put her their lips together. It wasn't long, but it was for a few seconds to really put the point across that it was a kiss and then pulled away. For a moment Sakura and Hinata just stared at eachother while Naruto laughed in the back round.

"Man, Sakura you really planted one on her!" He came up and put a hand on her shoulder causing her to look over at him. "I didn't realize I had gotten so into it with Sasuke that time. I now truly know how I must have hurt you and you can consider me payed back" He bowed deeply before her causing her to laugh a bit.

The looked back to see the other three now looking more confused than ever.

"Please don't be mad at me...or at least don't hate me, it was a matter of a womans pride." She said giving Hinata a pat on the back.

"It's alright Sakura. I remember seeing what happened in school between Naruto and Sasuke." Hinata was smiling now.

"Ooohkay..." Neji was obviously still not comfortable with the fact that he just saw his cousin in a lip lock with a woman "What do you guys say we all go for some icecream or something...I think I need to get out of this heat!"

Everyone laughed and agreed.

The five had spent a good deal of the afternoon and evening talking at laughing after eating at the icecream parlor. It was finally getting dark and everyone had gone home. Sakura was once again up in her room in her apartment only this time using her make up remover wipes to clean off her face. If she had to comment she would say that it had been a good day. It wasn't very often that she got to spend time like that with so many of her friends at once with how busy she had been at the hospital and helping out the Hokage. Speaking of Tsunade, Sakura remembered that she was supposed to come by in the morning to work a bit on her doctoring skills so she figured it was probably time that she get to bed. When she laid down on her pillow she found that she was more exhausted from the day than she though and fell almost immediately to sleep.

BEGIN DREAM SEQUENCE

Sakura was in the middle of a huge field of daisies. The sun was high, but there was a slight breeze in the air that made the summer heat not seem so bad. She was waiting and had been for a short while. Finally her wait ended.

"Sakura Chan!" Hinata ran up giving her a hug "I'm sorry I'm so late, Father caught me going out the door again and I had to think of where to tell him I was going to be...which reminds me...I need to remember to tell Kiba about the 'in town' mission we had together today"

They both laughed and sat down on the blanket that Sakura had previously laid out.

"I'm really glad we started spending more quality time together, Hinata Chan." Sakura said and blushed a little.

Hinata smiled. "Me too, Sakura Chan." Her blush matched that of her companion's.

"So...when do you think will be a good time to talk to people about us...whatever it is that we are exactly..." Sakura asked her blush becoming slightly deeper.

"Hmmm, I guess I don't really know...on either account. I know that I find that I love being around you and that the time I get to spend with you has meant so much to me" The dark haired girl put on hand on Sakura's cheek causing them to look at eachother. "I just honestly can't figure out how I never saw it before...how this just seemed to sneak up on us of out nowhere!"

"I know what you mean. It feels as if we should have always known how right this would be." Sakura's own hand had made its way to Hinata's cheek and the two gazed into eachother's eyes for a moment.

"Hinata..."

"Yes?"

"I don't mean to be so straight forward, but if I don't kiss you soon I think my heart might explode."

"Sakura my heart has been doing that since the moment I arrived because you hadn't kissed me yet."

With that the girls brought their faces closer together until their lips touched. Lightly at first and then getting into it a little deeper. Sakura felt Hinata's tongue on her lips and parted them allowing the tongue access. She moaned a little not believing still how wonderful it felt to do this. Hinata had to have the softest lips in the entire world. She moaned a little again causing Hinata to moan in return and both wrapped their arms around each other while pulling their bodies closer together. Sakura found her hand was making its way towards Hinata's breast. Hinata seeming to know what it was Sakura was going for grabbed her hand and placed it firmly at it's destination with confidence.

She pulled the kiss back just enough to say "Don't worry Sakura...I want you to touch me"

"I want to touch you, Hinata..."

The two jumped back at eachother in a long passionate kiss at Sakura tenderly massaged Hinatas breast.

END DREAM SEQUENCE

It was still mostly dark out the window. Sakura sat bolt upright. Her sheets were a mess and she had sweat pouring down her face.

"Huh?!" She said wide-eyed.
