I opened my eyes and immeadiately noticed was how white everything was. I realized I was lying on
my back. I sat up and looked around. I appeared to be on a floating platform of interweaving beams. Owls
swooped around the platform. I looked down at my body and realized that I had on strange clothes.
Although the brown shirt and blue shorts didn't look much different from normal clothes they had a rough
feeling. The shoes were nothing like I had ever seen. They fit like hiking boots but seemed to be made of
leather. I tried to remember how I had gotten here. To my surprise and horror I realized I had no clear
memories. I couldn't even remember my own family! Suddenly I saw movement out of the corner of my
eye. As I looked in that direction I realized that a girl had appeared. She had white hair and piercing blue
eyes. When she looked at me I felt like she could see my deepest fears and darkest secrets. She wore a
tight, black dress. She walked towards me with a grace rarely seen.
"Hello," she said, "My name is Nao. I'm here to guide you to the next world. Please don't hesitate to
ask if you have any questions."
"The next world?!" I cried out in shock. "Does this mean I'm dead?!"
"No, silly," Nao answered. "You were transported here because you were unhappy in your life. Also all
your memories were erased." Then, almost as if an afterthought, she said, "Oh yes, I need to give you your
new name. From now on you shall be known as Fellodoh Urishtgar. Now if you have no more questions then
I will send you on. Once you get there give this letter to Chief Duncan."
Still stunned I take the letter and put it into my pocket. I had been happy in my last life. Or had I?
Then realizing that Nao was chanting I yelled out. "Wait! I don't understand. Who transported me here?
Where is here? What is the next world?"
Then the whiteness enveloped me and I knew no more.
