So this is my first Nick/Greg story as well as my first songfic. i had to change all the "she's" to "he's" to fit the story.
I dont own CSI or Rascal Flatts. the song by the way is called how strong you are. ENJOY :D
When he told you goodbye
You didn't flinch
When he looked back
You didn't even budge an inch
You stood there like stone
But now that he's gone
Nick and Greg were standing in Nick's driveway. Greg had the last of all his things in his hand and was heading to his car. "Nick, I can't do this anymore. I can't be with someone who doesn't treat me like a person, and who isn't comfortable with himself."
Nick just stood there with a blank expression on his face that not even Greg, his lover of two years, could read. He watched Greg walk to his car and look back at him. Greg was thinking that Nick would at least try and stop him, but Nick didn't even move, he just kept blinking.
How strong are you now
Without him around
You can't even keep one little bitty tear
From fallin' down
Tell me how strong are you now
As soon as Greg was out of sight, a tear ran down Nick's cheek. It didn't stop after just that one tear, it seemed that all of the sudden the flood gates had been let open in his eyes. Nick was surprised by all the salty fluid that was coming out of his eyes.
Before he left you told yourself
It can't hurt that much
Now you're doubled over
Like you took a punch
No, he ain't coming back
Tell me how much can you take of that
Nick went back onto his house, grabbed a pillow, and started to cry into it. If someone were to walk in right now, they would have thought that someone had punched him in the gut. He was holding on to his stomach and the pillow for dear life. 'I'm leaving and never coming back' Greg's words had cut him deep to the core. He was always a tough guy, the last time he cried this hard was-no he couldn't relive that moment ever again. Besides that he never cried, he was one of the toughest guys on the team next to Warrick. But for some reason seeing Greg leave like that threw Nick into a fit of tears.
How strong are you now
Without him around
You can't even keep one little bitty tear
From fallin' down
Tell me how strong are you now
What's that rule that you live by
A tough guy never cries
'Pancho, I want you to remember something. Tough guys are never caught crying." His dad had told him that when he was 15 years old. His girlfriend had just broken up with him and was caught crying his eyes out in his room.
"Come on Nick," he told himself between sobs, "pull yourself together. Cisco said that tough guys don't cry when something like this happens. It's just like when Shelly broke up with you, you just gotta get back on your high horse and try again."
How strong are you now
Without him around
You can't even keep one little bitty tear
From fallin' down
Tell me how strong are you now
Tell me how strong are you now – yeah
How strong are you now – oh, oh
What's that rule you live by
You say tough guys never cry
But how strong are you now
The little pep-talk he gave himself didn't work. The tears just kept coming, Nick found out what it feels like to have the love of your life rip out your heart and throw it on the ground. He breathing finally calmed when he cried himself to sleep that night.
So, was it good, bad, okish? let me know please. thanks a bunch. :D
