That was all Sam Swarek had to do to get home.
Home to Andy.
Thinking of Andy drove the cobwebs from Sam's mind.
Made things clear.
Brennan smirked as he took the gag off of Sam. The smirk made Sam go cold.
"Where the hell is Candace?"
One long horrible heartbeat Jamie didn't answer.
Sam felt his anger and fear grow.
Anger at himself for being weak and endangering Andy.
Anger at Brennan for potentially hurting her.
Fear like nothing he'd felt before.
"I dropped her off downtown."
Relief washed over Sam and he fought to keep his expression neutral.
Breathe.
Plan.
Survive.
The mantra continued in Sam's thoughts.
Knowing Andy was safe Sam knew he'd endure anything if it meant getting home to her.
