This is just a one-shot about someone thinking about the loss of somebody they knew when they went to the Games.

I remember

How we used to watch the stars

Late at night

While everyone dozed off.

I remember

Your eyes

Bluer than the sea

Bright with curiosity.

I remember

That when I used to cry

You would always be at my side

Comforting me as tears ran down my face

After the Games, I saw your eyes again

They were dull

Their brightness was gone

And now I know that what I remember was wrong.

They have not only taken your life

They have also taken mine.
