Found a short story i wrote for english class in like year 8, that was a while ago... haha thought id share it with you all xx

We were sitting around the lamp on the floor, each of us wrapped in blankets whilst snacking on chips and chocolate and telling each other scary stories, as if we were around a campfire with marsh mellows.

"Bloody Mary's not true! I've survived a game before!" Said Keely.

"So, do you think if you called her name constantly she would actually come?" Asked Maddi as she handed a large packet of honey soy crisp chips to Dallas.

"I heard a version of the story where if you call her name 4 times she lets you ask her one question? Said Heidi budding into the conversation.

"That's not true either!" said Keely

"Fine then would you believe that this hotel has its own story?" I said striking fear in their hearts. Everyone's eye were on me, some curious as what the story actually was.

"My mum once told me before my grandparents bought this hotel the man who owned it, his name was Mr Thompson, he killed his friend with a bottle of wine he was drinking from and then after he hid the body he killed himself in regret". Everyone looked concerned except Melissa who seemed to be thinking hard.

"Wait! I've heard of him before, Mr Thompson I heard he hung her from the railing on the stairs then hung himself next to her!" she said quietly I confusion.

"Wait!" said Jess who sounded very concerned "that was here!"

"That doesn't matter, why did he do it?" Keely said who had urged forward, as she was deeply intrigued by the story.

"I don't know something about her lying to him and he just lost it under alcoholic influences!" I said before Melissa said "I heard she was messing around with magic and stuff, you know like the Ouija board, he just took it so seriously they fought which led to…." Everyone instantly felt crept, Keely held her blanket tightly around her.

"Hey, if she was contacting spirits here on the board, do you think that we could contact them here. They might have stayed behind!" Dallas said.

I told them of the footsteps my mum had heard in the kitchen at night. The sudden chills were becoming more frequent.

Heidi spoke from fear "No! That stuff is dangerous, that kind of stuff is boundaries you don't push!"

"Yes Dallas!" agreed Keely. The room went quiet, until Melissa broke the silence "I'm not scared, we should try it."

"Well we aren't participating!" said Maddi firmly as she stood up and walked towards the door. As she left Heidi, Keely and I all got up and followed.

Dallas smiled nervously as she grabbed the ouija board she brought. Dallas sat next to Melissa and Jess and they all placed their fingers on the pointer. "Mr Thompson we wish to talk to you! We want to know how you died!" the lights began to flicker and it was long before the power went out!

The others and I were in the kitchen, screaming as the lights went out. "Let's go get the others!" I suggested.

We walked down the passageway and pushed open the door to find the bodies of our friends lying still on the floor. It looked as though they hadn't been touched but still the life was taken from them. Then on the wall we saw it written in big letters, 'you shouldn't push boundaries, yes I agree!"
