This was the end.
Hinata's eyes were shut tight in protest of what had come to be. A tear leaked out the corner of her eye as pain overtook her very being; blood flowed down her torso and onto the cold, pitiless bathroom tiles. It hit the floor in droplets, each one making a lonely 'plink' as it struck.
"I will always be there for you."
Another sob wracked Hinata's body as his voice echoed through her memories.
This can't be true, she thought. He promised, he promised, he promised.
Naruto had broken her. Without prompt, a string of memories stormed through her mind- each one was accompanied by slice of the kunai into the soft flesh of her stomach.
Arms encircle her, holding her close as she tries not to cry. "You'll find someone," he murmured in her ear. "I promise."
"Come here," a soft whisper rang out. Naruto pulled her flush against himself, tilted her head, and kissed her gently. "I love you." Her first kiss, her first love.
He playfully kisses her nose, pushes her lightly against the wall, and locks lips with her possessively. After a few minutes he breaks away and purrs in her ear. "I love you."
Tears escaped from her eyes as she lay against a stump in the training grounds. Soft footsteps. He sits beside her and cradles her in his lap. Naruto says nothing.
Silence. Naruto passes her by without a single glance. Like just another face in a sea of people.
She broke out of it with a gasp. But he told her she wasn't just another girl. Naruto said she was everything, his only, that she was special, he said he loved her.

(was it worth listening to?)
Another flash of the kunai- another wave of rich crimson blood was exposed to the air. Hinata leaned against the wall, panting heavily.
He hadn't talked to her, hadn't acknowledged her, hadn't smiled at her, hadn't even LOOKED at her….
Not for a month.
Hope long since dormant, she packed her equipment and headed for the training grounds.
The half moon cast an eerie light.
Hinata arrived at the grounds, and stopped dead. Shock.
Naruto's golden locks gleamed under the still sky….. as did Sakura's cherry pink ones.
They stood in the center of the field, intertwined , lips frantically moving against each others. Her hands were tangled in his hair, his hands were sliding beneath the fabric on her stomach.
Hinata couldn't move as her heart splintered, her trust shattered, and her will to go on…. vanished.
Now she sat in her unforgiving, blindingly white bathroom. Hinata's blood flowed and made otherworldly patterns on the otherwise blank tiles.
Weary, heart-broken, and mind numb, Hinata trailed her fingers through the pool of blood forming around her.
She traced a single word on the floor.
Always.
Then, hands shaking, she picked up the kunai, and ended it all.
I love you.
Always.
