AN: This is how I wanted Judas on the Pole to end. I hope you like it.

"I'm just…I'm just one of those people who doesn't get to be in a family," Brennan said her voice wavering slightly. She lowered her head not wanting to fall into his sparkling brown eyes that held so much strength and comfort.

Inside she wished he would hug her again but also knew if he did she would break.

"Listen Bones…hey," he said gently lifting her chin so their eyes would connect, "There's more than one kind of family."

All of a sudden she felt herself falling again, longing for his strong arms to wrap around her, longing to feel safe. Longing to return to those moments when it was just them, in the car, at her apartment, hugging in her office.

She watched bewildered as he moved closer, his face leaning towards hers pulling her in. She barely registered his touch on her waist gently tugging her forward, leaving her enough choice to pull away.

From inside the diner Zach approached the window to only be stopped by Angela. "Not now," she whispered into his ear. The four of them turned to watch the scene outside. Three smiling secretively while another felt her heart break. They watched as Booth pulled her close as her body language changed in his embrace as she showed her vulnerability.

Booth mutely sighed as she finally gave into herself, her arms wrapping around his neck. He thought of the cliché ending to those old movies; the passionate first kiss, the gazing into each others eyes, the confession.

But as Booths lips met hers all thoughts fell away. The kiss so full of passion so full of need overcame their bodies and the world around them melted away.

No movie could compare.

This was the real thing.

He pulled her closer needing the small space between them to disappear and as they parted he held her up as her emotionally drained body fell into his embrace seeking a safe refuge.

He stood there and held her as finally the grief and reality of everything hit her. He stood there holding her in his arms protecting her from the cruel world; gently wiping away tears as they fell.

She knew that she should have pulled away at this point. It was her last chance to back away from that line of no return. But she didn't, her brain screamed at her, telling her to run because with every hug she was falling more and more for him, but instead she stood there in his strong embrace. Letting all her emotions finally wash over her.

Because with Booth she was safe.

And he stood there holding her…

loving her.

AN: Did you like it. It was just something that I didn't know if I should write because everyone would write their own versions and it would feel so repetitive with all these oneshots about the ending turning up but I couldn't resist such a perfect moment.

Well one of the moments in their long journey together.

Thanks to all who read and please review.
